DEAD at five months.......2007-11-14
This drive seemed great for five months. So I haven't backed it up for a month or two. Now it is suddenly DEAD. It is still under warranty but I won't accept the free replacement because I just couldn't trust it.

I own several of these, and all have worked perfectly. One I've had for several years and have used a lot still is going strong. Unfortunately, Western Digital has discontinued this item. You can still find them for sale new.

I had to replace mine because I put it through the laundry, and I knew I wanted exactly the same unit. Works great, nice and compact, and the connector bends and twists so that it fits into nearly every USB slot no matter the angle. 6gb is enough to even split it into multiple partitions, I usually had it formatted with one Mac and one PC partition so that I was always ready to go. Can't go wrong!

I'm a graphic design student and I was searching for something small, yet could carry alot of date. Alot of my projects dealing with Adobe Photoshop can quickly fill up smaller 256mb/512mb drives which cost about $35. I picked this one up for 60 and I have 12x the storage space! I like that the connector folds into the body. It's stylish, yet functional because it protects the metal from scratches/being bent. This drive is also incredibly light and fits in my pocket well. I also like the cool blue LEDS on the bottom of the drive that illuminate when the drive is plugged in. The aluminum colored body matches my MacBook Pro nicely as well. Really for 80 bucks you can't find a better drive. Western Digital provides nice quality products, and I'm currently thinking about picking up a 160GB+ drive for backing up my notebook computer from them.
