Fine DVD player; not region free.......2007-12-18
This DVD player worked fine but it is NOT, as some of the comments suggest, region-free, nor can you make it region free (legally). My friends and I did some research and apparently if the DVD player is already region 2 or if it was made before a certain year it might be able to make it region free, or if you "flash" the DVD player--thereby editing its internal workings-- you could also make it region free (or render it completely useless). Basically, the DVD player is not intended by the company to be region free and so unless you want to go through the frustrating task of trying to figure out how to make it region free, I would suggest getting a DVD player that actually is region free. I got this as a gift for someone and it was quite disappointing to have the region 2 DVDs not work on it. I actually ended up returning it and getting a Philips DVP 5140 Multi System All Region Code Free DVD player. That DVD player played the region 2 DVDs right away with no hassle. Again, this DVD player works fine; it's just not region free, so don't get it for that reason unless you're some sort of technical genius.

I am so disappointed with this product! It claimed to be a region free dvd player, but IS NOT! I already have a dvd player, so I was only interested in the region free capabilities, and it has none. I also cannot get the seller to respond and have thus far been unable to return it.
HELP PLEASE !!! Great DVD player, but ..........2007-12-11
... it's not a multi-region player. Well, at least mine isn't. I've tried the much touted "insert region2 DVD, turn off the player, wait 30 secs, push STAND BY and FF simultanously" approach, but nothing. The player still spits out my region2 DVD in disgust, saying it's the wrong region.
Now what could I possibly be doing wrong? Did I simply fall for a few fake reviews and order the wrong device (mine is the DV-393-S model) ?
Any help in this matter would be much appreciated.

12 months of satisfaction...then KAPUT!!.......2007-12-02
This DVD player came as a part of Pioneer home theater system. I bought this system that included this DVD player, a receiver and 5 speakes and subwoof. Purchased this item in November 2006 and have used it without any worries until today 12/02/07 i was watching a DVD and the the DVD player shut off. I could not get the DVD player to power back on. Called Pioneer customer service and they are not open on the weekend.
I went down to the basement and brought up my generic "Cyber-Home" DVD player I bought in 2002 and hooked it up. It works!!
Pioneer is a name brand people are supposed to trust and the DVD player breaking down in one year is deeply disappointing.

Thanks for the hints, everyone! I had to perform the factory reset (see earlier reviews), but once done this unit plays Region 1 and 2 DVDs perfectly. This is a great unit for folks addicted to British DVDs - recommended!

I'm Happy - But...........2007-12-31
I'm very happy with the product - But I was at first baffled by the encryption option, because I did not read anything about it being on there. I was not wanting or needing any encrytion. I have now bypassed this and am very happy and will be buying another one or two in the future.
DONT buy this flash drive, after 1 month it just died........2007-12-14
Don't buy this flash drive, after 1 month it just died on me. It will not activate on any computer, no light on the drive, no indication on the computer that a USB device was plugged in. It's simply dead weight. a real shame since i had all my passwords installed on there using roboform, and all the utilities i use to fix other peoples computer. Any ideas to recover files would be helpful... but be forewarned.
Great Flash Drive.......2007-11-20
This Flash Drive is excellent. I have had it for 3 months now and it is one of my best flash drives. It performs great and is just as good as my Sandisk Titanium. I like the rubber body's feel and durability. It came with a broad neck strap which I do not use, a extension cable for the usb, and a mini cd with TrueCrypt on it. Overall if you can get this at a reasonable price you can not go wrong.
Excellent flash drive.......2007-10-29
This flash drive works very well. I am able to get 7-8 MB/s write and 12-13 MB/s read times. If you really want to have a fast drive, then go for one of the corsair 'red wing' drives, but they cost twice as much. The rubber on the outside gives it a secure feel. Just don't lose the cap!
It is smaller than it looks in the picture. I would not recommend keeping it on your keychain, as the hole in it is just through the rubber and seems like it would break if attached to a keychain. Also, it will pick up lint easily if kept in your pocket.
excellent flash drive.......2007-08-06
I bought this flash drive, because i needed some place to store my music. I know, a lot of people have 20, 40, or 80 gig ipods. I don't need that much or want that much. My stereo has a USB input and so I thought that i could use this device to store all my music "in" my stereo. I only filled it up halfway with music, but it works extremely well. Corsair made this Flash Drive to be durable as well, and that fits my standards very well, 'cause I'm always runnin' around and my keychain is constantly bouncing around. Transporting the drive on my keychain works just fine.
In short, love it 'cause it's got a lot of space, really affordable, and it's extremely durable.
