The DV input broke. Send for repair got it fixed but broke again while buring DVDs. I get screen freez after few minutes of recording.
Samsung is sending brand new uunit model DVD-R160. Will have to see how it works.

After recording a few DVDs it broke. It freezes in the middle of recording. Has all the features one may not use but it lacks reliability. Currently awaiting a replacement shipped to me. It may only be limited to one defective unit I received out of bad luck or may be a general problem. Will know after receiving and using the replacement unit.

I bought this DVD to use with my HDTV. Image is great ! It upscales old dvds to 1080, very good. The recorder works very fine too, with very good quality when recording in 2 or 4 hours.
For me the only problem is that I cannot unlock it to region free...

This is my first dvd recorder. It plays divx fine and I play dvds on the hdmi out to my hdtv. The best quality in is svideo. The best quality out is hdmi or svideo.
The biggest problem is recording from the hd cable drv box- IF I use a svideo cable to the hdtv it will record any channel to dvd but if I have a hdmi cable plugged in to the hdtv the recorder won't record nothing- all the channels say copy protection. So basically I have to swap cables so that I can watch dvds in the best quality(hdmi) or if I want to record to dvd(svideo).
It won't remove commercials during recording.
What I have recorded, looks great and plays fine.

I've had the MV2010 for several months using it in a home/home office environment with XP and Vista PC's. It was easy to set up and has performed as it should. I've been very satisfied with this machine and have no complaints. Was also pleased to find out I could stream the CinemaNow movies through my daughter's XBox 360.

I have had the HP MediaVault since March. It is the perfect solution for backing up the 3 separate networked computers we have in our home. We also use it to share music, pictures and steam movies to the various computers. The Media Vault was easy to setup and it is easy to use. I can't think of a better way to share media and backup multiple PC's across a home network.

Really enjoying this product. Installed very easliy and worked right out of the box. Like the fact I can expand with another drive and set as RAID1 so 1 disk backups the other. Will probably add this feature soon since I have lost all my media 2x with in interal drive and an external USB drive. This device also works as a print server so your printer can become a true network printer. Allows easy access to all pcs on your network and sharing of the network printer. Lots of security features to allow users to have specific access to areas of the drive, or exclude/block them. Lots of great features and a good price. I highly reccomend this device if you have a home network.

Just make sure that you can return this product.
The hard disk failed after 7 days...they sent me another hard disk ..the second hard disk also was not working..The manager agreed to send me a replacement product. I sent the orginal product and new hard disk that I had pruchased/received..
The product arrived and it does not have a hard disk !!!!!!!..
Now they are planning to send me a hard disk and tray to me ..Calling HP support for several weeks...Don't know when they will ship the parts !!!!. Now I can not even return this product because 21 days are over!.
Great way to share files.......2007-10-10
I've had this HP Media Vault for a few weeks now, and so far it's been great. It's very easy to set up and maintain. I attached a printer, which is nice because now my wife and I can both print over the wireless connection. I'm thinking about trying to set it up for RAID, but haven't had the time yet.
One roadbump I ran into: one of our computers was set up for "peer-to-peer" networking, which doesn't affect regular Internet access, but makes the wacky Windows NETBIOS unable to find the Media Vault. This prevented me from mapping the drive (i.e. using "\\HPMediaVault\Files"). If you run into this problem, search for "peer-to-peer netbios" on the web -- you have to do some very minor registry editing, but then it's all fine.
One annoying issue: the Media Vault seems to think that the printer is actually a kind of external hard drive, so when I turn it off the MV complains bitterly (and doesn't seem to *ever* stop complaining). It says something weird like "Disk 'Broken Disk 1' removed unexpectedly". It doesn't affect the functionality, but it's irritating.
All in all, the HP Media Vault is a great way to share and backup files on a home network.

The setup for this router could not have been easier. It is laid out in plain language and takes about 3 minutes total. I have a fantastic signal in my entire apartment, really really fast internet for it being wireless, and I have never had a problem with losing the signal.

The router is a good wireless product for being just a g and not a super g or n. The signal strength extends for a decent distance 40-50 ft but is inconsistent @ times. Make sure not to have other wireless(phones) or electronic devices near the usb adpater.
