great find.......2007-11-04
I was looking for something small to put in my office and found this little TV/DVD player combo. It is amazing. Gets 181 channels, the picture quality is outstanding. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
Handy entertainer.......2007-10-18
Everything worked well. This was a gift as I had previously purchased an exact TV_DVD unit. Very handy in car, on the walker, wherever. Had good response from seller.
Underwhelming poor performer.......2007-05-07
I originally purchased this product for a relative, who unfortunately died before she could use it. I decided to keep it for myself and use it near my recumbent exercise bike to watch during workouts. Well, after four months I'm going to sell this sucker on eBay.
The first one didn't work at all and had to be returned. When the second one arrived, I found that the picture seemed washed-out and the sound quality was tinny. The power cord is too short for something that should be have a long cable for wall mounting, and the entire device has a cheap feel to it.
Audiovox seems to be aiming this product as a TV for kids, but I don't even think they'd be happy with the poor quality.
Audiovox TV.......2007-02-17
It is a nifty looking unit. But everytime you turn it on, it doesn't return to the TV or the station you were on. It goes back to DVD. So you have to press the TV/DVD button with the remote. Then I have to press the TV/CATV button six times to get to the SD setting where I have all the cable channels. This is quite annoying since it happens every time you set off the set, and since I use it primarily for TV and seldom for DVD, it's a ritual I have to go through each and every time. Most TV sets, small or large, stay on the previous setting when you turn it off.
The picture is so-so, the audio OK. But it is convenient and serves the purpose I bought it for -- to work next to the computer. My choice was to have the TV screen on the computer (it would have been cheaper and easier), but I have so many things working on various screens on the computer for my work, that there would have been little room for a picture as well. So this idea works OK.
Picture Settings.......2007-02-12
Don't buy this unit if you plan on turning it on and off fairly frequently as I do in my kitchen. The picture settings ---color, contrast, tint, brightness and sharpness --- need to be reset everytime you turn the set on, otherwise you have a washed out picture. There is no way to lock them in ! This is a major pain and becomes old quickly. I don't know of any TV that is like this. I have a feeling that this unit is really a DVD player that happens to have TV capability and not the other way around.

wasted hours trying to get it to work........2006-06-15
this is the worst piece of computer equipment I ever bought. after giving up on my last computer I boxed up the dvd burner and forgot about it. now I have a whole new computer without a dvd burner so I thought I would see if maybe the problem was my old computer like the people at iomagic said. I guess IOMagic was wrong again because it doesn't work in my new computer either.
A piece.......2004-03-21
this burner is a waste of money period. i have two burners in my machine, one old DVD-R Pioneer 2x and just recently added this I/O "magic". i can't backup my cd's like i can with my pioneer. i use nero and when i try to make a copy of a cd it says, "please insert empty disc". but then when i take that same disc and put it in my pioneer it works fine. I/O magic's products are crap. unfortunately i didn't read the reviews on this drive before i bought it. saw a good price and jumped on it....oh well this will not happen again. be warned i usually don't waste my time writing reviews unless it is something peeps need to be aware of. THIS DRIVE BLOWS
Good Product But Beware Of I/O Magic Rebates.......2004-03-20
The recorder performs well for me and so far has accepted all media I have tried. This is actually an Optorite DD0203 ± recorder. The only complaint I have is I/O Magic's failure to honor the offfered rebate. I purchased this unit in Aug 2003 and submitted the required items to receive the $30.00 rebate. Inquires to the status of the rebate resulted in "unable to locate anything in our system". I have submitted copies of the information two additional times and still no luck. I will never buy another I/O Magic product.
Decent product, but don't count on getting your rebates!.......2004-01-14
I bought this product in September 2003 and haven't had any major problems with writing DVDs with it. However, I have not received the $50 in rebates that were promised as part of the purchase.
When contacted directly via phone, the rebate company (www.rebateservices.com) states that it has not received the requested information even though I have sent the documentation twice. The second time I sent copies of all the forms and UPC codes via certified mail which proves they received them. Two other people I know have had the same experience with this company.
Beware of I/O Magic rebates. If you're considering buying this product because it's offering a rebate, think again.
I/OMagic DVD Writer not 2x or 4x per specs-Burns RW Coasters.......2004-01-02
PRO: Cheap
CON:
Cheap - Could not obtain reliablility with Nero Diagnostics at 2x or 4x. When I advised I/OMagic Tech Support of problem, they sent new software that disabled 2x and 4x. Not reliable even at 1x. Model IDVDRW4D DVD Writer makes coasters out of even +/-RW Rewritable media. I/OMAGIC refuses to provide refund. Claim no responsibility. Quoting their Manager of Customer Service email response: "we are a wholesaler of computer goods and as such, under no circumstances do we offer any refund(s) for products purchased." I would not expect anything better out of this or any other I/OMAGIC product. The "magic" is "on the box" and not "in the box".
SUGGESTIONS:
I have just trashed my I/OMagic and purchased a Plextor Model PX-708A. After extensive testing with Nero, on all four formats, I have not experienced a single data error. However, don't expect the "in the box" software (Roxio EasyCD/DVD Creator) to work on all four formats. The problem is the communication between the Plextor and Roxio's packet writing software - now called "Drag to Disc" which was formerly DirectCD. I have installed a trial version of Nero and all formats are working so looks like I will spend another $60-$90 to purchase Nero. Gets expensive when you can no longer trust what is "in the box" to work like what is "on the box".
After a very frustrating and time-consuming DVD writer experience, my suggestion would be to spend more money to purchase a higher quality unit or not to purchase at all if you are interested in writing DVD's. If all else is equal, look for Nero "in the box" if you need to use packet writing. An additional advantage is the Nero diagnostics which can be downloaded free at www.cdspeed2000.com. These diagnostics won't work with "Drag to Disc" or any other packet writing software installed because you can only have one packet writer installed. I suspect Nero's packet writer is embedded in the Nero diagnostics which are all *.exe files - no installation required. These tools are also included in Nero 6 Ultra edition.
Hope this helps you avoid my bad experience as I have benefited from many Amazon reviews. We can only hope to keep the manufacturers honest by sharing our experience - good and bad.

Great for instant reviewing.......2007-12-22
The loupe is good for field work; I can quickly look at my photos and make decisions about setting up shots. It doesn't provide a large viewing screen, but it's enough. Well worth the money.
not that great.......2007-11-21
This hood does not magnify. The only advantage is that you can set the focal length for your eyes, so you do not need to use your glasses with it. Magnification would have been nice. Construction is not of very high quality either.
Hoodman LCD Loupe.......2007-10-06
Hoodman Professional LCD Screen Loupe for Canon & Nikon
This is a great solution for shooting DSLRs in locations where the ambient light is too bright to see the LCD. Unlike other products this loupe doesn't attach to the camera; you can keep it in a pocket or use the attached strap to wear it around your neck.
When you want to have a clear view of the LCD, you place the loupe up to the LCD a see a magnified view of your image.
The part of the loupe that could come in contact with your sensor is soft rubber and won't scratch the LCD.
An added bonus is that people who wear reading glasses don't have to put them on to view the LCD. The loupe has a diopter that can be adjusted for your vision.
The price seems high at first but this loupe is worth every penny.
Hoodman loupe for LCD screens on digital cameras -- Finally!.......2007-09-17
Bright sunlight can be a problem when reveiwing your digital image on the LCD screen of your camera. Hoodman's Loupe solves the problem for Canon and Nikon users. The loupe comes with a cord to wear around your neck, and a carrying case to keep it from getting scratched. This is a long overdue, much needed product. All I can say is thank you Hoodman!
Great Idea, Abyssmal execution.......2007-08-23
How can you name something a "loupe" if it does not magnify? Oh, and what good is it? IF you're going to tell me the idea is to block out sunlight, it doesn't even do THAT. The edge of the Hood"loupe" isn't soft enough to form a gasket to block out light.
It is possible that there's are cameras out there that this hood MIGHT fit to "seal" around the edges and block light, but not even close on my Nikon D70. And, if all you want to do is block out light, SAVE YOUR $60+ and look at your LCD through a TOILET PAPER TUBE for FREE.
Or better yet, buy a real loupe (look the word up in the dictionary, it refers to a device to MAGNIFY) for a fraction of the outrageous cost of the Hoodman, put black electrical tape around the "hood" of the loupe (leaving a soft edge to gasket against the camera and block light, and get what this gimmick item infers in it's advertising, but does NOT deliver.
If there were a choice for zero or FEWER (negative) stars, I'd choose that.
