Not what I expected.......2007-01-05
This player was very difficult to understand. It isn't for someone who wouldn't be able to set the time on a VCR. I returned it.

Unit didn't work from day one out of the box. Unit froze in "hello" mode.
Complete resets didn't fix the problem.
On a positive note, Amazon made it right with a full refund.

I spent considerable time installing this unit in my system..After several frustrating hours..trying to unlock the disc slot I discovered that the unit would not open.. Sent the unit back using the very efficient return system prpovidedby Amazon. Did NOT replace the unit

I don't know if I only got a really bad apple, but this one is a JUNK!!! Amazon rips me off with this crap big time!! 30-day warranty is not enough for refurbished products for electronics. Sure, this junk operates OK during the 1st couple of weeks although showing some signs of hidden defects. But after the 30 day warranty lapsed, everything went berserk. I won't be surprised it this junk will explode one of this days!!! You wont buy this product even for a penny!!

This card works well. It seems to be based on the Marvell Yukon 88E8xxx chipset, so it's rather compatible and has a fair number of drivers out there.
Nothing special about it, other than the chipset.
All in All a pretty good card.......2005-06-30
I bought several of these cards to install in computers at my office. Most of the installs went without a hitch but two of the computers have been having on and off problems with the card. Sometimes the computer will boot up and say that it has found new hardware in the form of an Ethernet controller, no matter what drivers I throw at it, it says that none of them are the right drivers for the device. Upon rebooting the computer though everything works fine again. All machines are running Windows XP Pro with similar hardware so I'm not sure why only two computers are having problems. The drivers are not Windows Certified so that might have something to do with it. All in all a pretty good card and works great most of the time. Again, I've only had a problem on two out of ten machines so it isn't a major problem. Just thought I would mention this stuff, hopefully Belkin writes a better driver soon.
