Play your entire music and video library with the slim-profile, progressive scan Zenith DVB611 DVD player, which offers a wide range of disc and format compatibility. Standing less than 1.4 inches high, it's an easy addition to any home theater configuration. In addition to standard DVD movie and CD audio discs, it can also play content burned to CD-R/RW, DVD-R/RW, and DVD+R/RW discs. It will play MP3 and WMA songs, and it's compatible with video burned to disc using both the DivX and XviD video formats. You can also enjoy photo slideshows, thanks to compatibility with JPEG image files.

You'll enjoy crisp, clean audio and video reproduction thanks to the 14-bit/108 MHz digital/analog (DA) video conversion and 24-bit/192 KHz audio DA conversion. It also offers Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound decoding (and 2-channel mix-down) as well as virtual surround sound through two-channel speaker set-ups. DVD playback features include bookmark search, zoom, chapter skip, smooth scan, slow motion, repeat play, and parental lock. CD playback features include programmable, shuffle, and repeat play as well as JPEG preview and MP3 ID3 tag support. It features the following video and audio connections:

DivX is a compressed digital video format (like MP3) that's based on the MPEG-4 video compression standard. It can reduce the video from a DVD (MPEG-2) to around 10 percent of its original size while still retaining good video and audio quality, enabling you to store several two-hour length movies on burned DVD media.

XviD, similar to DivX (and spelled in reverse), is an open-source compressed digital video format based on the MPEG-4 video compression standard that enables you to save video to small file sizes for easy portability and storage. There is debate about which format yields better video.

Component video (also called Y/Pb/Pr) features a three-jack video input, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB) and red color difference (PR). This results in increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding than you would get with S-Video or composite (RCA yellow video plug) connections. You will need a separate RCA left/right audio cable for sound.

WD External USB 250GB.......2007-12-03

I find this drive to be quiet and reliable, and it runs cool. It has (in my opinion) one drawback. The power connector does not attach securely. The connector is a mini-DIN 4-pin, whose metal barrel is about 3/8 inch long. That is just not enough to anchor it in the socket. If I move the drive or jiggle the power cord, the connector often pops out. Except for this, I'd give it 5 stars.
