Works well, just one nit-picky thing.......2007-04-05
I bought this DVD player for it's 5-disc capacity. The specs are not impressive against many others out there, but the Denon name usually means quality. It's not the quietest player out there. For the price, you'd expect quieter. Picture and Sound quality is fine. The connectivity is good. The player has a switch for progressive vs. interlaced output on the back, as opposed to all other players I know that have the feature buried in a menu. This is one the least deep DVD changers I've seen. All others are at least 2-3 inches deeper. This makes it suitable for most TV Stand/Audio Piers with enough space behind for connections. Note, this is not an upconverting player.
The thing I'm going to nit-pick about is that it has no auto play mode for CDs. I could not find a way to make the player auto start a CD either when putting in the CD and closing the tray OR by when skipping a new disc. Also, the video processor specs aren't even comparable to a cheap Philips DVD player I have. So ultimately, this one's going back and I'm getting a Yamaha DV-C6860 in it's place. Look out for that review.
