The first thing you'll notice about the N60i is its impressive color touch widescreen. However, thanks to its intelligent design, the N60i is slimmer and lighter than most other navigators in its class. Sleek and robust, the N60i houses a vast array of impressive features that include thorough directional graphics, a Turn-by-Turn voice guided navigation with 3D graphics mode, and a Multi-route option mode, and more. Other design features include an infrared remote control for easy operation while driving, and with the included Drive-Away platform, you'll be able to use the N60i straight out of the box.
The N60i is the world's only car navigation system that lets you navigate to pictures. With its built-in 1.3 megapixel camera, you can shoot and build your own "Destinations Album" and navigate back to your favorite places simply by tapping the photo on the screen. You can continue to create your own points of interest with the embedded digital camera, or you can upload points of interest and pictures via the Premium Navix Photos website.
In case of an emergency you'll never have to worry about being stranded; just one touch displays your exact location so you can quickly advise roadside assistance or emergency services. Navman 60i Nav PIx GPS.......2007-07-20
Overall a great unit at a good price. Maps are complete and up-to-date. Screen is large and easy to read. The voice directions are pleasant and clear. If you miss a turn or deliberately choose a slghtly different route the Navman doesn't yell at you 'turn back!' it quickly recalculates your best route from the spot you're in and modifies its directions. Although I live in a suburban area with a lot of new roads, it seems to have all but the newest in its database. I never use the 'navpics' feaure (or for that matter the camera on my cellfone) but I tried it and it seems to work o.k. I DO use the favorites feature and it is easy to designate a place as 'a favorite' and quickly access it at a later time. The software self installed on my laptop and is easy to use.
Gripes: The car power plug is too large and interferes with my shifter.
(it has to convert 12V to 5V so I don't know if they could shrink it.)
You have to manually dim the display at night. I think they could put in a photocell to do that. Navman comes with a tiny remote that does this easily but I'm so spoiled by the rest of the features that it seems inconvenient. OVERALL: Well worth the price with better features than I have seen in manufacturers installed units in some cars.

It doesn't have the new day light savings time.
Camera quality is worse then my cell phone.
Map updates cost more then others.
Customer service is questionable and the US market does seem like the company's main concern.

I bought the N60i for a trip to Florida. Have also used in Northern Virginia. The other reviewers have covered the features well but one thing you need to know is that there is no service after the sale and the device has a compatibility issue with Windows Vista.
Map updates are important to keep up with road construction if you live or travel in highly populated or growing areas. Navman does not offer a subscription service for map updates and only offers infrequent CD updates.
To use the software to load maps and edit POIs requires activesync for XP and mobile media device center for Vista. Everything works fine on XP but on Vista the device isn't recognized and crashes Windows Explorer if you try to look at the files. The strange thing is that the Navman software can see the device but Windows Explorer can't. The main impact is that you can't edit POIs since Windows can't see the device. That wouldn't be a big deal if they updated map software regularly. Since they don't being able to edit the POI file yourself takes on more importance. There is no Vista update from Navman.
They don't answer emails or accept phone calls except for ordering products. It's a shame. The hardware is great but I can't recommend.
very impressed with Navman!.......2007-05-19
my husband purchased this ~4 months ago, primarily for the ability to take GPS-tagged photos. we've never owned a GPS navigation system and the picture quality is on par with a camera phone... i wasn't completely sold on it until our recent cross-country move.
the navman has been extremely helpful as we explore our new neighborhood. i like the POI function that lets you search, by name, for stores and other points of interest based on the city or location. it's fairly easy to input an address, though i wish the keyboard layout is in qwerty. it picks up the GPS location fairly quickly on sunny days, slower on cloudy days. we've been using photo feature quite a bit-- it's a breeze to take a picture of a location, and later ask it to direct you there. the maps are pretty good overall in boston/cambridge MA, greenwich CT, westchester county NY. i did notice that the big dig (in boston) tripped it up a bit. there was one road where it thought we had instantaneously hopped onto the highway underneath us, only to realize that we were back on track a block later. when i missed a turn, the "re-calculating route" is quick. the maps proved accurate and very helpful in neighborhoods filled with one-way streets.
other things i like include the way it changes the display automatically to the day/night view, ease of mounting hardware, the very calming voice, and general ease of use.
things i don't like as much include the battery life (wouldn't want to take this hiking!) and the case (you have to take it out of the case or cut a hole in the case to connect the power cable). also, going over holes and potholes tend to cause the mounting hardware to drop at the hinge and change the navman's position. the navman sometimes will not turn on right away, and require a complete restart. we suspect this happens when the battery runs out completely.
overall, i'm extremely pleased. with the navman, i am surprisingly comfortable navigating the curvy streets of boston/cambridge.
