A Cheap Welcome To Hardware Raid.......2006-10-12
I have been using this card for 2 months now and will never go back to a software raid. Windows / Linux file operations all seem to be near instant, with large file transfers occuring with little delay.
Nearly all motherboards that feature SATA raid actually use software raid. Software raid uses the CPU to handle any file processing needed. Which means during large file transfers you are consuming a lot of cpu resources. Hardware raid handles the file processing on the card, speeding up drive performance and freeing up the CPU.
Pros:
1) Fully featured BIOS gives total control.
2) Blazing speed compared to software RAID cards/motherboard raid.
3) Native support in Linux 2.6 or higher.
Cons:
1) Card processor gets real hot.
2) 64bit PCI-X slot is not a standard on most motherboards.

Samsung Battery.......2007-07-12
The battery did not hold a charge. It was worse than the original one I am still using. It came with no instructions on how long to charge, etc. I was very disappointed and returned it. The replacement battery did not have Samsung written anywhere. I didn't know if it was really a Samsung battery. I was told that this is the only way they are shipped. If there were instructions, on how long to charge before using, perhaps it would have held a charge.I asked for a replacement and have not heard anything yet.
