Not long ago, DCDi was only available on players costing twice as much as the DV7001, so this is a worthy addition to the impressive list of features. Sound quality is Marantz-standard, whether you choose stereo or multi-channel analog, or coaxial or optical digital outputs. Conveniences range from on-screen display through parental control to front-panel menu operation. The remote controller fits your hand perfectly. Superbly Engineered Discrete multichannel analog audio circuitry includes unique high current HDAM-2 output modules mounted on a separate circuit board for extra isolation. HDAM stands for Marantz's proprietary High-Definition Amplifier Module 2 Super Audio, and when you hear the DV7001, you'll know how the technology got its name - it's truly high definition and absolutely super! The chassis includes a double-layer bottom plate to minimize vibrations and the transport mechanism is highly damped to minimize tracking problems that can affect both picture and sound. A dual-transformer power supply separates circuits to eliminate interference. Progressive Scan with 3:2 Pulldown Video technology includes progressive scan 3:2 pulldown circuitry for smooth, a film-like picture with compatible TVs and monitors.

This Marantz Player has no equal.I been an audiophile for many years and never expected to be blown away by this masterpiece.Simply put the best audio and video performance i have ever experience.The dvd audio and sacd playback is absolutely astonishing....every disc plays with perfection.Worth every penny i paid...and highly recommend this unit.

2-Line Panasonic cordless phone.......2007-11-29

I was specifically looking for a 2-line cordless phone that would hang on the wall. It was a challenge to find this. The Panasonic phone fit the bill and works great. If I had one complaint, it would be that there is only one voice mail message indicator on the phone. This means you have to pick up the phone and listen to the dial tone of each line to find out which line has the voice mail message. This, however, would not make me send the phone back or not purchase it again. I would definitely purchase this phone again.

Panasonic KX-TG2480S 2.4 GHz 2.4GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless TelephoneI purchased this telephone because I needed a 2-line telephone for the wall in my kitchen that was compatible with the other Panasonic cordless phones in the rest of my home. Right out of the box, this phone did all I expected of it. It looks nice on the wall and works great. It has a 50 number regular memory and a 50 number caller-ID memory. A nice feature is once you set up the 50 number memory with name and number, and a call comes in, the name you have assigned to that number is what shows in the caller-ID window. This is usefull for the cell phone calls you receive which normally don't show the caller's name. I really like this phone and would definitely recommend it.

Better than most.......2007-09-18

Since there seems to be no thoroughly developed cordless phones available, the Panasonic is sort of like picking a presidential candidate: the lesser of the bad. It seems to be made better than most without the typical creaky plastic housing and the sound quality is fine. It also gives plenty of warning for low battery. For some reason, the dialing from memory is like it's second language. Slow and labored. I wish it had a simple way to turn the ringers on and off, not through a sometimes awkward menu gauntlet. And who knows why Panasonic doesn't offer a remote charger base. But credit where credit's due, I've had it for almost a year now with nary a problem.

Panasonic KX-TG2480S Phone.......2007-08-31

Needed a two line phone that included a visual flashing lite to notify us of unplayed 'voice mails'. Wanted a good looking and compact phone to fit on a small built in desk in our family room. Also our hearing is not the greatest and this is super clear and plenty loud (we turned it down). This meets all our needs, was a very good buy, arrived promptly. We have purchased several items thru Amazon and a couple from this vendor and are very happy with quality and service.

Decent 2-line phone for the price.......2007-08-28

Pros:
-CallerID on Call Waiting function.
-Wall mountable base.
-Can be quicky programmed with codes (direct commands).
-Temporary Ringer Off function compensates a bit for lack of DND.
-Operation in the 2.4GHz frequency range has much better coverage than 5.8GHz.

Cons:
-Callers often complain they can barely hear me speak. Voice enhancement (VE) and clarity booster are no help.
-Phone has no DND (Do Not Disturb) button.
-Handset does not display current time/date.
-Handset does not display time elapsed after call.
-Speakerphone only on handset, not base.
-User needs to press HOLD before picking each other line.
-Not many ring tones to choose from.
