Don't waste your time!.......2007-12-21

I bought this little player for a third TV that is rarely used. It lasted for 3 DVDs, and now I get a "unknown disc" message and it won't play any DVDs at all. I've tried turning it off and on, different DVDs, I've even tried a different TV, and no dice. It was well out of warranty by the time the problem surfaced, so there was no chance of a refund.

I won't be buying Apex stuff anymore!

I purchased an Apex dvd player last summer. It worked good for awhile, then the dvd door would not open. Also, if you rent dvds this player is not for you, about any marking on a dvd will cause the dvd to freeze. I only had my player for around 9 months, and didn't use it all that much and it up and quit on me last week. So, I'd say if you're looking for a good cheap dvd player look elsewhere. Apex makes junk!

Not a good phone.......2007-11-21

I purchased this phone for home use. Overall I was very disappointed and ultimately sold it online for a 50% loss.

The sound quality was terrible. The max volume was way too soft (I have good hearing too). The battery life was horrible (less than 1 hour on speakerphone). And finally, the range was not good.

Would not recommend this phone to anyone.

Wonderful phone,motoralo is the only phone I prefer,this is the second one I have owned and will never go to another product.This phone has everything you would want in an cordless phone.I love having the caller ID on the phone as well as the base and the two line option works prefectly if you have two phones in your home or office.Must buy item

Disappointing quality and durability.......2007-06-24

I have owned the MD781 and two standalone (MD71) handsets for almost two years.

On the plus side, the handsets have a nice physical build quality and look & feel.

On the minus side, the system has been plagued by both quality and durability issues as long as I've had it. Throughout the life of the phone, the base has periodically (every month or two) 'locked up' requiring a hard reset of the base (by unplugging the power supply) in order to associate the handsets again. Secondly, all three handset batteries deteriorated such that they can't hold a charge of more than a few minutes after only 18 months. Finally, the LCD display on two of the three handsets has begun to fail with lines of pixels missing.

I'm disappointed with this level of quality considering the Motorola brand name, and especially considering the high price of this base and handsets compared to competitive offerings on the market. I'm donating this phone system and replacing with a $99 base and 3 handset bundle from VTech.

An all inclusive phone........2007-04-08

I have this phone and I love it. It has all the features that I can think of - Keypad on base as well, speakerphone on both base and handset, caller id on both, answering machine etc.. Moreover you can get extra handset and add to it. The intercom feature between the handsets is quite handy in my two story house.

MD781 5.8GHZ good phone with all the features.......2006-02-26

Our household has been shopping around for cordless phones and the first thing we found was that we needed a 5.8GHZ because every 2.4 model that we bought had terrible reception. This phone is exactly what we needed. The reception on both the cordless handset and the base speaker phone is perfectly clear. The orange backglow to the CID screens makes it easy to see and it is not hard on the eyes plus the screen is larger than most typical phones out there have so that also helps make viewing easy. The answering machine works just as it should. For the price and all the features it is great. We also own a Uniden TRU model that works on a dual 5.8/2.4 GHZ and there is no interferrence between the two phones.

Had to buy replacement rechargers when the dog chewed the cords on the old ones. These new phone rechargers work just fine. Plug one end into the wall and the other into the phone and the phone gets recharged. I can't tell them apart from the old chargers. - Except of course for the chewed cords.
