Do not buy this unless you just feel like wasting your money. Not only will you be wasting your money on this junk but you will be throwing away just about every DVD you try to burn! Ive wasted lots of time trying to record something only to get disk error at the end. Even as a DVD player it is no good. It keep freezing up and sometimes I have to unplug it because it will not do anything. When it does actually work the picture is pretty good, I have to give it that much but save yourself the frustration, don't be a tight wad like I was trying to get a cheap recorder. You get what you pay for!!!!!!!

We have this DVD recorder that did not work properly from day one. We are now trying to contact Ilo to get it replaced under the one-year manufacturers warranty, their customer service line says "all circuits busy", and they will not answer questions over the email. Buyer bewares. This company is trouble.

Ilo DVD Recorder.......2006-09-16

I have owned this Ilo DVD Recorder for about six months and it has been very frustrating. The unit sometimes completed a recording, sometimes didn't. Now it will not recognize a DVD at all, showing "no disc", have tried several types of discs to no avail. My advice is - don't buy it, it is a waste of your $100.

Don't buy it.......2006-06-26

It works "sometimes". I had to take my first one back. Don't think I can with this one. If you spend an extra 50-100 dollars we might get one that lasts because in a few months after having this one you'll have to purchase another one anyway. Number one, it doesn't play half of my regular dvds. One time I was watching a movie the thing paused, I had to unplug it to turn it off. Some of my dvd's i've recorded I've noticed that they pause and or jump during the recording. Also, I noticed my local WalMart no longer has these on display. They are jammed in the back, not on main display.

I've had mine for about six months now, and there have been no problems with this at all. I've been using it to record off our DVD camera, off video inputs from our DirecTV DVR and from my laptop, and it's done just fine. The only issue I've encountered is that on two discs, when it got close to the maximum capacity of the disc it returned an error when finalizing the disc, but the disc was still playable on our other players. It even took a DVD+VR format disc I made with Nero and offered to adapt it to its format so I could make edits with this player. It also plays back Mini-DVD (DVD format on CD-ROM) and DIVX movies.

For the benefit of others, I've been using Memorex DVD+R media, Verbatim DVD+RW media, and even the cheap Staples DVD+RW media. Have yet to have a problem.

The only other problem I've encountered is that my in-laws have a DVD player that is a few years old, and they complain that the DVDs recorded on this player don't have any audio when played back on theirs, even though they play fine on this recorder and a portable DVD player I have.

We returned the phone after using it for only one day, due to the atrocious voice quality. Callers on the other end of the line could only be heard properly if the volume was turned all the way up, but at full volume you hear your own voice magnified. The range of the phone was also poor, on every channel. To top it off, our answering machine message sounded like we were speaking with our hands over our mouths while we recorded it. Not recommended.

Shouldn't things last longer? How long have we been making telephones? I was happy with my my Motorolla phone for the first year. I didn't use it a lot (my cell phone is my primary number) though used the Motorolla for local calls and to screen calls from mortgage broakers, etc. After about a year, the keypad started going out (intermittently), it's gotten so bad that I can no longer use it to dial out. Just recently, there is an aweful static in the handset- it's junk now. If Motorolla can make a tiny cell phone that stands up to daily wear and tear you'd think making a big, clunky, old-tech, landline cordless would be no problem and it would last...

I was a little reluctant buying this phone because of the price. I have never had much luck with low priced phones, so I bought a high-end GE with a high-end cost. I hated everything about that phone from day-one and only lasted 3 years before the buttons started to fail and couldn't make calls. Enough about the crappy GE. Let's talk about the Motorola...

I decided to take a chance on the Motorola MA561 because Motorola seems to be a good product for me, from cell phones to walkie-talkies. This phone is NO exeption. Easy to set up, easy on the eyes, easy on the wallet, and the clarity is awesome!! I highly recommend this phone!!

I have to admit that the person who said the wall mount was awkward is right. Don't buy this if you intend to mount it on the wall. I have an old vintage rotary phone hanging on the wall, and it will stay there in case the electricity goes out. Plus it looks cool.
