If you have a camper or need to work with someone when your in a tight spot than you need these! .......2007-10-23
My wife and I use the walkie talkies all the time and it has saved me hundreds in car damage alone. When the kids go off in the park it's good to call them when we need them and also know their safe. I've owned these over 2 years now and the batteries stay charged great and I'd basically trust these in any condition.
Horrible Customer Service.......2006-06-29
"The service from this vendor is horrible. My account was charged in May of this year and as of 6/26/06 have not received anything. First they said they need to make a model change. I was fine with the model change but never got the product. I sent many...notes to Nicholas Nasti but he has been unable to fix the problem. Recently I have been unable to contact them with notes or telephone."
4+ mile reception!.......2006-04-20
These radios rock.
I've been reading all the reviews of different radios for sale and have seen that most radios get .5 to 1.5 mile range max.
Well I put these radios to the test and set one on vox mode to trasmit automatically when exposed to voice. Specifically, I put one radio next to my tv and tuned to the weather channel as they do the most talking (no pun intended...lol).
I then drove off and set my trip meter to zero on my car. Drove in pretty much a straight line on a major street near my house.
Hoping for at least a 1.5 mile range, I was blown away when the radio finally dropped off after 4.2 miles from home.
Not flat land either. Two overpasses, a large forest preserve, numerous homes and buildings and 3 small hills!
Get these radios! You won't regret it!!!
AWFUL reception! Barely a mile .......2006-04-12
I just purchased these in part due to the relatively decent reviews and for the rechargeable aspect, features and brand-name. Took them out to test and really not pleased with the performance. In Florida so mountains and hills are not a major influence in the performance evalution. Also, it was perfect weather. I'm not in an area with high rise buildings, rather outside of town in a mostly residential area. At one mile they began crackling severely with static. At just over a mile-they became non-audible...only the call feature worked. By 1.5 miles-forget it. Full charge, no mountains, no hills, no tall buildings, nothing but a few tree's. Now, I did NOT expect anything near the claimed 14 miles, not even half that. I did expect somewhere between 2-4 mile range in perfect weather...nowhere even near it. On the other hand, the rechargeable aspect is nice, the car adaptor is a great little touch but for the price difference-they barely outperformed the $20 set I purchased as toys for my neice/nephew. Disappointing
look elsewhere.......2006-04-08
I already own several Motorola T6300s which I use frequently on ski trips, but was looking for something that might have a little more oomph. The Motorolas are FRS radios (so only 0.5 watt) and have been great little radios for the last few years. They usually cover the entire mountain I ski at which is quite large, reliably getting at least a mile of range even in dense trees and over small ridges, and have sporadically actually managed to reach up to 2 miles of range, approximately how far my condo is from the mountain (but this has never been reliable).
So I figured I wanted something more powerful - I'd go for a GMRS/FRS radio (FRS so they would be compatible at times with my T6300s when we are in a larger group), and look for a 5 watter. Motorola's are all very tall - around 9 inches - too tall to easily fit in a pocket. I knew I wouldn't get 12 miles, but was hoping to be able to more reliably reach our condo 2 miles away, given that I have some limited success already with my FRS radios. The Midlands looked like a decent product - normal size, high wattage, decent reviews, and the pair was less $ than just one of my Motorolas.
Well, you apparently get what you pay for. Like a good doobie, I foolishly bought my FCC license before using the radios, and then discovered they aren't half as good as my Motorolas. The main problems are two-fold:
1) VERY quiet - I'd guess less than half as loud as my Motorolas (I'd read this in another review, but underestimated the problem)
2) TERRIBLE reception - I get about a quarter of the range on these that I do with my Motorolas, even using GMRS on high power
I was surprised the Midlands would perform so poorly, esp. given their wattage and GMRS, but I've pretty much put these on the shelf, and will only use them now if I have a large group and need extra radios (and aren't real concerned they will have to rely on them). In the end, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

OEM phone battery - the way to go.......2007-05-15
Why spend $30 at a Radio Shack if you can get it here for cheap? :) It's a battery after all, and there is fewer things in life that make you happier than a phone that doesn't die after a day.
So, don't get a new phone and don't get a new subscription. Just get a new battery. And be amazed discovering all the features in your old phone that you didn;t even know about...
