Right angle for the right price.......2007-10-06

After seeing how much a friend liked a similar right-angle finder on his Canon SLR, I wondered if there was anything available for my Pentax *ist 35mm camera. After searching and only finding older right angle finders for much older Pentax models I stumbled on this beauty.

The finder is well constructed; light in weight but does not feel flimsy. Probably most appealing feature for everyone looking at this product is that it appears to be compatible with almost all SLRs, regardless of brand. Adapters allow one to attach the finder to a particular brand of camera. The fit on my Pentax was snug but not so tight that I couldn't take it off without excessive force. Though I have not made much use of the 2x magnification, I believe it would be very helpful in macro work.

The only drawback to this finder is the rather loose feel to the diopter control. The upper portion of the tube rotates to adapt the viewing focus to the user's comfort. The rotation is very fluid, but it almost feels too easy to turn. If the photographer were to orient the camera vertically, for instance, one can swivel the finder also into an upright position. Swiveling the finder, however, can bump the diopter thus throwing it out of focus slightly. This is easily fixed, but one must be aware of it when operating the camera, so be careful!

I highly recommend this right angle finder. It does its job well and costs maybe a third of the price of the comparable Canon version (which, of course, is only available for Canon cameras). It makes photography easier on my back and easy on my wallet!

Just that, for the price this is a great viewfinder. If you want pro equipment, pay $200.00 and get it! If you want useful, this is it. I use this viewfinder often.

Fits my Canon XTi fine - For the price it is a good deal. The only problem I have is that I have to change the diopter adjustment when changing from 1x to 2.5x power - but that is easily done and it is a minor annoyance considering the price of this unit.

I found this product to be well made and as it seems to me truly universal - at least it fit my Pentax *ist DS (a similar product by another company apparently does not). The only reason that I gave it four, rather than five, stars is that the fit is a littl too tight (although this is better than too loose). I might be able to improve this with a few adjustments, however. The viewfinder is useful for nature photography when using a tripod, especially when the camera lens is pointing upward.

My wife owns the Sony Alpha 100, which is lens and accessory compatible to Minolta auto focus cameras.
She likes to take photos of the creepy crawlies ... bugs, insects, small frogs, plants etc. which means getting close and low to the ground.
The Alpha has no exchangable view finders, so you have to get an angle finder that can be fitted to the camera.
We thought about buying the Minolta one, but flinched ... its almost three times the price of the Seegull product.
The seegull finder fits nicely to the Alpha (and the Minolta bodies, too), it covers the whole of the minolta screen, the image is bright and undistorted.
It comes with a number of adaptors for other camera brands, which you don't need for the Minolta, of course.

If you are looking for a budget-priced angle finder which does what it is supposed to do, go for this one :-)

Radio is unbelievable!!!!.......2005-05-24

I had bought this radio at a Radio Shack store in town when we went to visit my dad in Indiana last Christmas. I had only bought it because my old Radio Shack cb I have had for about 8 1/2 years had died on me on the way there. I Bought the 520Xl and hooked it up to my SWR meter with my 3 ft Firestik antenna with magnet mount I had on the back, and right off, i never had to make an adjustment at all, because I had a SWR reading between 1:0 and 1:5. I used this radio on the way back, and was able to reach people up to 5 miles away, which was great! unfortunatly on the way back, I had to take my antenna off because everytime a semi passed us on the road, it would blow my antenna off the truck. When I got home, I took my CB to a cb shop near by and had it peaked and tuned, so now it gets 14 watts out instead of 7, and I can talk over 15-20 miles on a clear day. I did however switch antennas to a K40 3 ft antenna with adjustable sleeve that I had for years, and it works about the same. Get the radio, get you a good quality antenna like Firestik, K40, Wilson, or another good name brand. If you know somebody who can do it, get it peaked and tune, or take it to a cb shop and have them do it, and you will get somebody surely everytime you talk. Well worth the money, sorry about rambling on, but I felt if I shared experiences, it would help.

One more thing is that I know 4 truck drivers that have this CB in their trucks over a big Cobra, and they love the size and availability of the radio.

Get the Uniden 520xl, get a quality antenna, get a peak and tune if availble, and get talking!! You won't regret it.

A very good, compact CB. .......2005-04-08

This CB is a very good buy. For the quality of it, the price is the best I've seen. I used it with the Cobra A1500 antenna. I found about 5 miles. Also, it is compact and fit in the console. The only problem was getting use to the squelch and RF Gain. This is my first CB and I am very happy with it.

Nice product. Hight quality workmanship. My only concern is if the clip were to gwt wedged against the phone, it would likely get torn off. Almost as nice as the Coach Cell Case, but a lot less expensive.

Very happy of my purchase, perfec fit for the L6, easy access to all the function with the case on. The case gets all the scratchs and the phone stays new. The only con is that it get dusty under if you carry you phone in your pocket like I do. Solution: dust it off with compressed-gas duster once in a while.

I bought this item to protect my new Motorola L6.
First of all, it's a cheap piece of plastic... would break if dropped.
Second, and more important, MY PHONE DOESN'T WORK WITH IT ON! The plastic tabs on the side are were the side buttons are on the phone, preventing any usage of the entire phone.
