This is the third DVD player I owned. I like it because: 1. it looks slim; 2. it is quiet when it plays; 3. it can easily be cracked as all region DVD player. I bought with only $40. Good price.

Radios range is only the optimum possible which will never happen in real life. This is the same for all the radios sold not just this brand or model.
Battery runtime could be longer but then the radios would be bigger too so it is a trade-off. The recharge base is convenient as a stand so you can find them when needed.
Reception and sound quality are good when used correctly - kids like to talk too loud and too close to the handset which cause garble. Keep them a couple of inches away from your mouth and speak in a normal tone and they sound great.
These are a good value and I would buy them again if needed.

Uniden 14 mile gmrs radios.......2007-09-19

The Uniden Gmr1428-2Ck 14 mile radios did NOT transmit over one (1) mile. They were absolutely poor sending or receiving voices. They did work at 1/2 mile at the max.
When setting these down, they do not stand up; they have rounded bases.
Do not get these; I am sending them back for a refund.

What I was expecting..........2007-09-07

This product is exactly what I was expecting... Of course the range will not be 14 miles, because this are in ideal conditions, however I traveled to a mountain range with my family, and I got a range of approximately 7 - 8 miles. The audio quality is really good, however when you are really far away, it breaks a little, but still nice quality. About battery life, I didn't have problems at all. It comes with rechargeable batteries, and they lasted the whole day for me. Sometimes it was weird, it would show really low battery, then I would just reboot the radio, and battery would be a lot higher, but overall, I didn't have problems at all with that. With the tons of channels, if you want for fun, sometimes you could get some police radio signals or even other places, but then there would be other frequencies with tons of channels and subchannels to select from.
I would recommend this product to who wants to travel and always be in touch where there aren't even cell phone signal(that's why I had to use one).
Don't want to talk bad about other products, however I previously had a motorola with a 10 mile range (it sucked... could only get about 2 mile range with that one on real life conditions, maybe my product was bad, however uniden surprised me.

What more could I ask for?.......2007-12-21

I've had this router for 3+ years. Bombproof. Never had a single problem that could have remotely been traced to this router. I really don't know what else to say.

Full disclosure: I work for MS. But if something doesn't work, I dump it. And this thing has been nothing short of perfect.

The least headaches the most reliability to date.......2007-04-03

I am in the I.T. industry. When I get home the last thing I want to do is mess with my home equipment. I have installed over 15 wireless networks for friends and family. Everytime its a linksys or a netgear and they are a complete and total task to install.

Enter the Microsoft broadband router. I have had it for 5 years now and it has worked flawlessly. My only issue is I cant find it in stores anymore because Microsoft for some reason decided to stop manufacturing them. Its a shame because I would recomend this to anyone. If you dont want to constantly wrestle with setting up epuipment this is the router for you.

Wireless Router.......2007-01-21

Good functioning router for local, home use. Could be a bit challeging to integrate with internet provider/modem, depending on what you use. Don't expect to get top data transmission; too many variables within each network system.

Bad router.......2007-01-08

I've had this router for a while now and have tolerated it for far too long. The firmware is no longer being updated and Microsoft blatantly ignores the large amount of customers who have complained for 2+ years about connectivity problems. Google the model number for yourself to see common complaints.

It boils down to this unit being unstable. Connections will drop frequently. Windows mobile devices in particular have a hard time connecting. And in general the device does not respond nicely when you disconnect/re-connect.

Be sure to read one of the reputable online review sites before you buy (this applies to any computer device)!

Great router, too bad it's gone. .......2006-07-07

I've read all the negative reviews and don't know quite what to make of it. I and several colleagues here at a major aerospace firm have been using this router for at least 2 years with no hitch. Installation was easy, connection both wireless and direct work flawlessly. This may all be a moot point now, but we who like this great working product just had to put our two cents in to defend a good and well thought out working router.
