No analog in........2007-11-29
I'm living on-campus at school, so I'm restricted to analog signals for cable. I got the TV and saw that mine didn't have a Coax/Analog input. Every picture I've seen for this TV has had the analog input included, so I was caught off guard when I found mine didn't. Now I have to go through the trouble and money of either buying an external TV tuner or finding a VCR with an analog tuner in it. Lucky for me, the FCC made it a lot harder to find anything with a analog tuner to connect to my TV since they're forcing companies to pull Analog tuners from their equipment.
The specific model on this TV is 323-S13 (within the 323V family, I presume.) So we wary.
Blue screen looks nice, though.

After owning a standard definition tv my whole life this tv was a huge leap up. It has an absolutely superb picture quality, especially when it is hooked up to an Xbox 360. Gears of War and Halo 3 on this tv make my old lcd monitor look like my old tv in comparison. I am in love with this tv.
I hadn't really noticed the sound issue until i tried it with some 2.1 speakers, then I noticed it big time. The sound is not the buying point on this television, but for the price the 1080i picture quality definitely makes up for it.

I agree with H. Schlossberg. Poor and erratic volume is a big issue. Mine is mounted on the kitchen wall, so external speakers are not an option. Proves the adage "you get what you pay for." In all fairness, I am waiting to hook up TV to cable box via HDMI, but based on performance via standard coax cable, I should have spent the money for a brand LCD HD. Research and think hard before buying.

For the price and value it is really worth the money. I brought it for a summer cottage and just wanted something for the rainy days, I got more then I expected. I have to agree with most other reviews the sound is not the best but is easy to compensate with some external speakers.

I'd thought other reviewers were just being a little picky with the sound issues, but I've got to admit they were right. I do recall the first time I turned it on and thought it sounded like a transistor radio. The quality is okay if you turn the bass all the way up. For us, it's just a bedroom TV so sound quality isn't a must-have. But for a bedroom TV, it is a shame the volume doesn't go any lower. Even when my wife and I are both awake and watching TV, the volume needs be no louder then its lowest volume level. And even at that volume I can understand every word from down the hall with both doors closed. It's really strange to me that this was the lowest volume they could engineer. As for picture quality, it's perfectly acceptable from across the room using NTSC input from my DirecTV receiver. Haven't tried it yet with HDTV, but I gather from all the reviews that the HDTV quality would be excellent.
