I'm not really sure right now.......2007-12-10

I bought this tv for my mother and liked that it was a Sharp Aquos, (since I bought myself a 37" Aquos and love it) and it has about the same screen size as the analog tv it replaced. She does not have cable or satellite and I have been struggling with OTA antenna to pull in some local channels. The set has a digital tuner and it will receive digital signals. That was important to me since all analog signals will cease in February of 2009. The set itself, when I am getting a good digital picture, works very well. It has a nice clear picture and if I didn't know better I might think it was HD. But it's not, it's 480p.

The remote is very small and the buttons are teeny. I'm always punching in wrong numbers even when I'm trying very hard to be precise. Remotes seem to get smaller as screen size gets smaller. This one should be twice as large for it to be easily used. The menu options are satisfactory, and not overly-confusing. My mom is 81 and I wanted her to have as little hassle as possible. I don't recall seeing a HDMI input but for me that doesn't matter. Since the set is at her house I'm writing this from memory so I can't get up and go look at the back of the set to check inputs. It has 2 component inputs which are enough in this situation. The viewing range is short, so this set would not do as a main set for most people. I wanted the 4:3 screen ratio since that is what she is used too.

It's a good set, I'm just irritated right now and wish I hadn't bought it because of all the trouble I'm having to go through to get a decent OTA signal. But that would probably happen with the Aquos that I have if it was at her house. I spent all day yesterday crawling around on her roof with my husband trying to get an antenna hooked up and aimed in the right direction and still crap for a picture. If I bite the bullet and have cable installed I'm sure all my signal woes would go away.

I gave it four stars but I think 3.75 stars is more accurate.

Small Footprint.......2007-11-16

This LCD TV replaced a CRT TV with a smaller screen and it has a lots smaller footprint. Picture clarity and ease of controls is great. Good viewing angle and excellent features.

we got this for our living room. we have a small living space and this works perfectly. the price was great and the instalation was easy.

Other than the one limitation (it takes a minute to turn on from the remote), we find no problems whatsoever with this TV. It is compact (fits under the kitchen cabinets) and it is clear and great to watch.
The sound is clear and can be adjusted from very low to very loud.
No complaints at all.

(...) I was skeptical when I ordered but after adding them to my home network I am very pleased with their pereformance.

I have two Windows machines, one Macintosh and miscelaneous ethernet devices connected to the network and haqe had no trouble at all.

The units are small and fit well into a home system. An added benefit is that these switches look good. A blue power LED along with the connection and status LEDs make for a cool setup.

Get these if you are looking to expand a home network. You won't be sorry!

Not compatible with all devices........2004-05-01

This switch works great with my desktop's 3Com 3C905TX ethernet card, but it won't communicate with the integrated Intel 10/100 ethernet port on my Toshiba Satellite notebook. I had to place a Linksys device between the two to get them to communicate.

I give it 2 stars for being pretty though.
