A great choice for smaller rooms like the bedroom or kitchen, the 15-inch Magnavox 15MF400 LCD TV/monitor offers the versatility to easily switch back and forth between TV viewing and your computer monitor. It comes with a built-in 181-channel NTSC tuner that can accommodate up to 125 cable channels. It has a removable table stand, and the set can be wall-mounted with optional hardware.
The 15MF400 has a 1024 x 768-pixel resolution and 4:3 aspect ratio for standard definition television viewing. It also offers a 250 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, 16 ms (millisecond) response time for viewing fast-moving content with minimal blurring, and a 400:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) The 2D comb filter separates chrominance (color) from luminance (brightness) information in the video signal for independent processing to improve picture resolution and minimize distortion.
This set has two built-in stereo speakers that produce 3 watts of sound per channel (for 6 total watts). It offers the following connection options:

Poor sound hard to adjust.......2007-11-28
Out of the box months ago and still can't get it adjusted. From 12 feet away the sound is tinny and acceptable only if the bass is turned way up and the treble is turned way down. The picture is not crisp and the background is too black. If I adjust it brighter everything turns washed out. I expected more. I use it with ear phones and over a treadmill so it is acceptable for the price.
easy to use.......2007-11-27
The monitor part is perfect (great picture) easy to use, great size. For me dvd & tv are alittle out of focus. Some people may not notice. If you back up a bit it looks better. I'd recomend trying this tv out. Also- its "dc" 12volt so you can use it in a motor home.
Terrible Product.......2007-06-27
I bought this product a year ago, and a few months after I bought it I would have intermittent problems with the TV video - it would flash to a garbled screen with vertical and horizontal patchwork lines. I never sent it back because every time I was about to the problem would go away. Now the problem seems to be permanent. The problem only happens with TV and S-video, not the computer VGA input.
Also, changing channels is annoying because there's a 2 second pause between channels. Very annoying.
Don't bother with Magnavox. I've never had a reliable product from either Philips or Magnavox.
Great for college students and small rooms.......2007-06-06
I bought this a year ago for my dorm off of some extra summer wages, and it worked wonderfully on top of my desk while barely taking up any space. The image quality is very nice (not HD, but nice). I go to school and live on opposite coasts, so storage is an issue, the slim size, once again, is clutch, and it looks good. I have it in storage and can't wait to get it back in the fall. 15 inches is enough to enjoy movies or TV casually, especially on the desk for a quick study break.
I've seen complaints about the sound, its certainly not Bose but it is on par with other tvs of similar size, and will do for casual use. It has a headphone jack, so if you have good computer speakers (particularly if it has a subwoofer), you can plug in easily for when you want better sound for a movie or sports and switch right back over. Has all the inputs you need for dvd, games, cable, sound, and even a vga input to double as a monitor if you wanted.
Overall, if you need a TV for a small room, this is great for a desktop situation.
Worth the extra 50 or 60 bucks to save space.
Whether your a student buying your own or a parent buying for your son or daughter: this is an affordable solution.

This LCD TV is a Great in features, good sound, easy menu, great image. perfect for a kitchen or small bedroom inclusive for a bathroom... it's great in there.

Installed this with a wall bracket (must be purchased separately) to hang on the wall in front of my treadmill. The picture is very good but the DC motor of the treadmill sends minimally bothersome interference across the screen. The sound is very tinny and true to other reviews gets worse when the volume is increased. Since I plan to use the earphone jack and the price of the set is reasonable, I can live with it. However if sound is important, plan on using the earphones or buy something else.

I wanted to connect my Playstation and my Mac to one display, and this turned out perfectly. There's inputs for component, VGA, RF antenna, and S-video. Documentation is lacking but not really necessary. It also has picture-in-picture as well as as sleep mode. Overall, its an excellent TV and computer monitor at a fantastic price.
