I LOVE THIS CAT!! I think that it's the best imitation I've seen. This cat is fun. She is NOT boring at all!! She can do lots of things (hiss, meow, raise her tail, arch, sleep and you can wake her up! She's also light activated so she wakes up when she senses you or light!!!!) She is fun to pat and comb. She even has a mouth with a tongue in it. So people say that they think she would look better if he mouth opened when she meowed. Believe me it wouldn't!!!!This cat is the best!!

I got this toy for Christmas. Ilove it. I abanded this toy,and it got some brudle hits. It was still alive! Know I keep safe becuse I don't want it to die. I don't think this toy is a wast of money.Mine is ginger. It came with a silver/grey newborn kittin.

I bought this cat for my 5-month old male kitten who plays very hard. He sprints across the floor and tumbles with the FurReal cat, biting it and otherwise violating the mechanical cat in every imaginable way. The FurReal cat simply purrs or inclines its head and meows, which riles poor Binks into more furious attacks. When they both lift their tails and hiss at each other it's more fun than a barrel of monkeys. The best part is that I'm not getting bit as much as before! I personally recommend this toy for cats as well as children.

I Got this toy for easter it was so cute and cuddly its so much fun that all my friends and family love this cute toy one time my sis came pulled its tail and there went that annoying hiss but i love it so much and i play with it everyday parents IT'S WORTH THE BUY

I purchased this toy for my 4-year-old, along with the Fur Real Kitten for my 2-year-old for Valentines, because of their interest in a store demo. At the time of purchase, I thought nothing more of it, but a glorified stuff animal, so I wasn't too concerned about the age requirement on this particular toy at that time. We don't have cats, nor will we ever due to allergies, so I thought this would be particularly fun for my kids. My oldest toddler was excited at first, but clearly became more interested in the kitten we purchased for our youngest; even thou this Cat version seem to have more movement and sounds. I think it's because of the bottle feeding feature and paw movement on the kitten. The manufactures age requirement for the Cat is 6+ and the Kitten version is 4+. After watching my kids play with it for a short time, I agree on the age requirement. I think it's generally durable and the head movements are great, but I do see a potential problem with the mechanics in the neck getting broken with ruff toddler play unlike the Kitten version with no movement and mechanics in the neck (just the paws). I think it has educational value, as it hisses when you pull the tail, discuraging abusive play. However, I ended up putting it up on a shelf in my office until their older, and picking out another Fur Real Kitten as a replacement for my oldest toddler, in which they both love and carry around everywhere (and have not paid any attention to the whereabouts of the larger Cat version).
Overall, the Fur Real Cat is truly adorable, the mechanics may be a wee bit too loud, the movements and animal sounds are adorable, but unfortunately, I now seem to enjoy it more than my kids. As it now sits on a shelf above my desk, it has already become quite a conversation piece among adults for its realistic and charming looks. Embarrassingly enough, I've become personally attached to it and I think it makes a better gift for an older child to an adult rather than young children. My oldest son, a teenager, has asked me if I can help him purchase one for his girlfriend for her Birthday.
