Buyer Beware.......2007-10-07
I bought one June 28th from BB on sale but didn't get around to really testing it until my media room was finished in August. The remote control would not work unless you stood directly in front of the set and one channel of the audio output did not work. BB said call Westinghouse. Westinghouse said they authorized BB to fix it. BB said I had to send it back to CA from NC. Westinghouse said ok to send it, which I did. Two weeks after they received it, they could/would not tell me the status, saying there was nothing in their database yet, but they would send an email and let me know. A week later I got the same run around, with a supervisor telling me she could/would not call the repair facility to find out the status (still nothing in their database). Again, an email would be sent. Again, I still have no idea when my brand new, 3 month old TV will be repaired and returned. I suspect it is still in the crate or something would be "in their database". Buyers beware.
I just wanted a TV........2007-10-01
This TV works fine. I purchased it through Best Buy because I wanted the TV on the day and they had one in stock. I have had it for 2 weeks now and it is still up and running. I do have some complaints though.
1. I use x-box live and when I download a TV, half of my screen gets cut off. This might just be a setting that I can't figure out, but it still sucks. Other then that it works fine for games and television. Except for Halo 3 coop...I will have to figure that out, if I don't, I will buy another tv for playing games with friends.
2. It gives off tons of heat. I am new to the HD big screens, so that might be the standard, but I was surprised. It almost heats up my room very quick.
3. The packaging was horrible. The TV works fine and it doesn't have any cracks/scratches, but still. It has a protective cover for all the corners and some screen tape, and that's all.
Other than those minor complaints I feel I got what I paid for. I would recommend this to someone else!

One Star?? You've got to be kidding. The comment wasn't even about this model. I've had mine a week now and could not be happier. Great picture and great price. Excellent prices on the Amazon HDMI cables as well.
Most *expert* reviews complain about the blacks, but I'm satisfied with the performance. I did purchase a reasonably priced extended warranty, which will take care of the TV if the tuner breaks in a couple years. 720p sports look great, but 1080i TV is truly breathtaking. I believe you can see the difference on this size screen. The TV supports 1080p, but I don't have a source for that.
I'd certainly recommend this TV to a friend.
