A great choice for smaller rooms or apartments, the 20-inch Akai LCT2016 LCD television provides vividly colorful images from standard and high-definition television programming as well as DVD movies. You can also use it as a computer monitor with its VGA 15-Pin D-sub input. This LCD TV has a 450 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating and 500:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) It has a 640 x 480-pixel VGA resolution and 120-degree vertical/160-degree vertical viewing angles.
It includes two 2-watt speakers (for a total of 4 watts of power) along the sides. Connections include:

Component Video Input: You'll get great picture reproduction from compatible DVD players or cable/satellite set-top boxes using the three-jack component video (Y/Pb/Pr) output, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB) and red color difference (PR). This results in increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding than you would get with S-Video or composite (RCA yellow video plug) connections.

I bought this television last year as a gift for a relative. I paid full price for it because it was a new item with a one year warranty (or so I thought). In less than a year, the television stopped working and I had it sent to a local Akai Authorized Repair Center. He informed me that the item was a REFURBISHED TV with only a 30-DAY WARRANTY. After several weeks of phone calls to Amazon Customer Service, I received only 80 percent of my money back. So, Let The Buyer Beware.
Great little TV but no VESA mount .......2007-04-03
Clear Picture but volumn/speakers are weak! Didn't realize when I bought it that there was no VESA mount on back of the unit.
Picture went black.......2006-12-25
Worked fine for a few hours. Then the picture went black. Doesn't matter the input (tv, dvd, etc.), all have the same problem. Tried re-boot with no result. AKAI logo comes on briefly, then nothing. AKAI online support is nonexistent, owners manual is far-east translation, and one fix-it site suggests "hitting it". Back to the dealer it goes!!

We actually bought this 20 inch tv a year ago and was amazed at the color quality. I am very picky with my tvs and we took a gamble since we have never heard of this brand. My husband and I felt the color was so great that we can't wait until we can afford a bigger Akai. We moved recently and our television wasn't mounted yet and the cat knocked it down and it broke. We just bought a "sorta known brand" LCD today at 5:00 AM and when my husband got it turned on we noticed that the color and picture is fussy and I immediately complained that it wasn't as good as our old Akai. I was really bummed until I got on Amazon and saw this tv advertised. So excited. Worth getting.
Good choice for Bedroom .......2006-09-12
Positive - The picture quality if great.
Negative - Channel Display is very small which makes it hard to see. Also when changing channels it takes a sec or 2 to bring up the next channel, so for the remote control junkie who likes the surf the channels this could be frustrating. I had to turn the base up to full and the treble all the way down to get the audio to sound fine and it does by doing this.
Bottom Line - I got a good deal for less that $300 so overall I am satisfied.

Not perfect, but the best alternative to any case on the market. I can easily insert my iPod into any dock, incuding the Belkin in my car, without the hassel of having to remove it from a carrying case. Masks existing scratches very well and prevents new ones. Except for a couple very small air bubbles around the edges, you can't even tell it's there. I highly reccomend this product!

I am very suprised with the quality of this product!!! I put it on my Ipod video about 2 weeks ago, and not only does it look great, it hasn't picked up any scratches. not to mention it masked all the hair scratches that were on the ipod surface. The only downfall, and i mean only, is that it shows a little fingerprint oil, but that might be because i have the black ipod.
oh yeah, and the best part, you can't tell that it is there!!! if you didn't know I put it on, you wouldn't see it!!!
