Nice Bright Display.......2007-08-30
As with the other reviewer, I've had my 21" CRT Monitor replaced with the HP L1940T 19" LCD.
The display is bright and clear. There are no color noises. Blacks are deep. Colors are bright. Good 100 degree viewing angle. After that, it gets a little dark, but, I don't think that it is a big deal. The construction of the monitor itself is great. I like the different angles that you can place the screen at also.
The screen saves so much space now that I can place my tower back on my desk!!
Usable, but not great.......2006-11-28
This is the first LCD I've used on a regular basis; it was issued to me at work. My first impressions were that the design is attractive, the base is sturdy and I suddenly had a lot more desk space than with my old 20" CRT. That was where my good impressions ended.
I took a resolution hit with this monitor, as it only goes to 1280x1024. I'm used to 1600x1200, though I imagine that would be a bit tight on a 19" monitor. Don't know why they can't produce one that does 1400x1040!
My work PC only has an analog VGA output, no DVI, and I notice that blacks and dark colors in the analog signal are VERY noisy - they exhibit distracting flicker and an unpleasant grainyness. When the black background of the on-screen config display is shown, it is very dark and noise-free, so I assume this problem only applies to analog signals.
Another complaint I have is that you must be *perfectly* centered in front of this display to avoid darkening at the edges. Moving even just slightly to the left or right, or up and down, causes whites and light backgrounds to develop a pinkish cast.
Overall, this display is usable, but far from enjoyable. I want my CRT back!
A stunner.......2006-09-17
This monitor is awesome! Excellent color and brightness, superb build quality and no dead pixels either. Factor in the current rebate offer from hp and it's excellent value for money.
This monitor is being used for graphic design and illustration, as well as some gaming - it performs superbly in all areas. It's plugged into an ATi X700 Pro video card.
Don't worry if you don't have a DVI capable video card either - I've tried VGA and DVI and there is virtually no difference to be seen.

Nifty little gadget.......2007-07-16
First of all, the size is NOT 7 X 6 X 3. It is the whole damned box that is that size. The actual gadget is tiny 0.25" X 1" X 1.5" approximately.
I was able to pair with it my KRZR K1 and stream music to a set of iPod
compatible speakers. My first attemp to pair failed but the second one worked.
Now for the problems, it is tiny, smooth, and has no hooks or holes of any kind, which means you very likely to lose it very quickly. It would fall out of your pocket and you would not even hear it unless there is a hard surface. BAD design, it needs a loop/hole to hook it up to a key chain or something like that.

Useless for any high-quality video related task........2007-03-07
This thing is trash.
I was reading reviews and noticed that other VGA Switchboxes had people complaining about their low quality video, but this one seemed to have decent reviews so I decided to try it.
I bought this in order to switch between using my PC and my Xbox360 on the same monitor. I instantly was able to recognize ghosting when using my PC, it was especially apparent whenever there was any text against a white background, regardless of the color of the text. The effect wasnt limited to text either, everything onscreen was ghosted. The whole screen looked fuzzy and it felt like my eyes were out of focus, and I was only running at a resolution of 1280x960.
Trying to wiggle the switch, as previous reviews stated, did not help either. The ghosting problem persisted no matter what I tried. I also made sure it was not my cables by trying to connect the monitor directly to the cable, then putting it through the switchbox. As long as it was not connected to the switchbox the image was crystal clear, the second I connected it through the switchbox there was ghosting everywhere, so there was obviously nothing wrong with my cables.
I suppose if you needed to switch between two terminals that only need very low quality video (such as between two systems that use a command line) this might be useful, but it's useless for anything else.
The only good thing I can say about it is that it was cheap ($11.99USD), not even worth the hassle of returning it. Although keep in mine that you will also have to factor in the cost of cables as it comes with none.
I'm going to set my sights on powered KVM switches from now on, this thing is going in the closet, likely never to see the light of day again.
The switch.......2007-01-05
I bought this switch because I am a poor college student and wanted to put my xbox 360 on an HD setup without actually buying an HDTV.
So, I bought this switch and now I use it to switch between my xbox and computer. There are only a couple issues that I have had, which is why I didn't give this product 5 stars.
First, sometimes the screen kind of gives a wierd color or tint BUT this is easily fixed just by giving the knob a little wiggle.
Second, sometimes the switch makes my screen go blank. Usually a wiggle fixes this though.
I did kind of wish that it came with an extra VGA cable but that may be asking too much for such a low price.
So, if you want a cheap switch that will make a sweet setup sweeter, check out this switch. Affordable and the HD for the xbox looks amazing! Nice.

My screen turns yellow on a regular basis, I guess this was a faulty unit.
When I get a chance I will probably send it back, in the meantime I have invested in a raritran switchman KVM switch, a much better value for money proposition.
