I just have to tell you my story.......2007-11-30
I bought my first headphones, which were on-ear Koss headphones, around thirty years ago. They were great and soon after I purchased the over-ear Koss Pro/4AAA--which were touted as THE pro headpones in their time. The Pro/4AAA have a lot of headroom in them and could easily handle my high-volume live electric guitar playing.
Now, fast forward about 27 years. My first Koss headhones had been tossed years ago, but I recently came across my ol' Pro/4AAA thrown loosely in a box I had in storage.
Sidebar: Over the years I have turned to Bose headphones (Quiet Comfort as well as their in-ear) and speakers. Bose sound better to me for general listening because I have a sensitivity to sound right around 2,000 hertz. The Pro/4AAA may be a little hot around 2k Hz, at least relative to Bose, which I believe adds to the sense of clarity in sound that others refer to. In this regard, the Koss headphones are much better for playing my guitar through them--for the clarity--and can easily handle the peaks in music much better than the Bose.
So, when I found the Pro/4AAA in storage, I though I'd give them a try, particularly since I'm playing in a classic rock garage band and I just broke my fragile Bose QuietComfort headband while wearing them playing guitar.
The Pro/4AAA sounded as good as I remember and I could really get loud with them. The only problem is that ear cushions (which surround the ear and isolate from external sound) where hard and crack--not particularly comfortable.
So I started looking for replacement cushions and eventually ended up at the Koss website. Not the most impressive website, but there I found replacement cushions for the Pro/4AAA. Again--THE HEADPHONES ARE ALMOST 30 YEARS OLD!!!
Even better, the replacement cushions--which appear to be the same closed vinyl Pneumalite as the original cushions--were only $5.00. INCLUDING SHIPPING!!! Let's recap--OEM replacement cushions for my 30 year old headphones for only $5.00. The shipping by US Mail cost them $1.47, so Koss made a total of $3.53 on the deal. The cushion arrived in a little over a week or two and they are perfect.
I was so impressed with all this, that I purchased these MV1s so that I would have another set of phones. They too sound great and they come with a full--no questions asked--lifetime warranty. Given how the Pro/4AAAs held up over the years, I'm certain that these MV1s will do as well and I have an amazing company like Koss standing behind them.
Great headphones.......2007-05-21
I was in a band for 22 years and I went through probably 5 sets of the Koss Pro 4AA headphones. I lways liked them as the sealed out outside sound (I was a drummer), they were loud and reproduced the sound so accurately you would hear every little sound. I am using these to work with audio files on my mac and I was not dissappointed by their top of the line model. I would highly reccommend these headphones to any serious music listener!!

For what I paid for these headphones, I would NOT recommend them, to ANYONE. The hinges broke after 1 month with normal (seriously, NORMAL) use.
I'm usually a big KOSS advocate, but I can't, within the normal real of moral good, recommend these phones.

Good multi-purpose case for your 80G iPod. It's attractive, protective and has it's own "stand." I find these cases much better than the plastic skins; I find them more attractive and it's much easier to get the device in.

I have burned a few coasters at top speed and have since moved down to 32x recording speed. Since that time, I have had flawless copies (sometimes from heavily scratched source disks). This product is a great buy IMO.
Garbage.......2006-11-29
I got one of these for Christmas 2005. It worked well for about five months and then the bottom drive made a loud cracking sound. After that it no longer recognized discs. I/O Magic replaced the machine with a different model that had a smaller, inferior LCD display. After only two days of use, the bottom drive started rejecting any blank CD I put into it. This duplicator is a piece of crap so I'd advise you to not buy anything from I/O Magic. Spend a little more money and get something that will work.

I purchased this device from staples for $113.46 including tax and free shipping. This device is fairly quick, and I use the duplicator as a stand alone product. I too get an error message that states bad CD-R disk, but the disks work fine, but I am coping audio CDs.
The device is very simple to operate. I had the unit out of the box and operating in less than 5 min.
The only problem the I have with the deivce other than the disk error message that I mentioned (remember that the CDs I have made are working fine) is the blue access light on the top. I am not sure why I/O magic would waist their time, effort and money on making this blue light that flashes, but then agian, I barely paid $100.00 for the unit.

I needed a stand alone unit, as I needed to make copies of about 200 CDs, and didn't want to tie up my computer. This unit looked like it had some cool features, like the USB port, so I could use it as an external CD burner as well. After the first dozen or so CD-Rs I copied, it started having a hard time reading some CDs, or would tell me the CD-R media was bad. At first I chalked it up to poor media, but when I started to copy some CDs I hard burned on a TDK burner, with expensive media, the problems persisted. I'm returning mine to the store after making about 20 bad discs, that my burner in my computer was able to handle without fail.
