Good Headset, Excellent Value.......2007-06-24
I have used this headset for a year and have been very happy with it. The sound quality is very good and the people I call can never tell that I am using a headset. The volume - earpiece and microphone - is quite loud. This makes the headset useable in the car and noisy public places. It supports Bluetooth 2.0 and has good battery life.
Probably the most important feature of a headset is the way it fits your ear. Nokia has developed a soft plastic clip for this headset that can adjusted to fit either ear. Once you adjust the clip,the earpiece will sit directly over your ear canal and yield excellent voice quality and volume. This fits adult-size ears best. For children or women with smaller ears, I recommend the smaller BH-200 (I bought it for my wife).

This is a 6th gen BT headset?.......2006-02-25
The HS26w is my 3rd BT headset, the phone i'm using it for is the Sony-Ericsson w600i. I figured even if the w600i doesn't support Bluetooth 2.0, sooner or later i'll end up with a phone that does, why not get a headset that's already using the new standard? Paid 49 USD for this, I've had the headset for about a week now, and i'm not entirely pleased.
First the sound quality, this headset is decent when its near the phone, and it delivers clear and normal sounding voice on both ends. this is good. in noisy locations it doesnt work as well, this is not so good... but being a sub $50 headset i didn't expect it to perform that well in the first place.
The range of the headset is... iffy. paring up with the w600i, at about 2 meter out the HS26w starts to get statics. around 6 meter or so people on the other end couldn't hear me. paired it with a Moto Razr V3 and the range increases a bit, statics comes in around 4 meters or so. So, i guess its pretty much a phone dependent thing, your mileage may vary.
Next is user comfort. This headset uses an unorthodox fork shaped clip/hook to secure itself, and for the most part it works. the fork shaped clip is made of soft rubber, and feels comfortable and secure even if you have glasses on. however, because the fork's position is fixed (its screwed on, you can't remove it nor adjust it), if you have large ears (i do), the speaker will end up pointing too far back. i ended up having to turn the volume up, which creates echo...
The unit is somewhat heavy, so its not one of those 'i didn't even know i had it on' kind of headset. whats worse, the unit's dimension is bigger than most of the current gen headsets. length and width might seem ok on paper, but the thickness kills it - at its thickest point, the HS26w is almost as thick as it is wide - about the size of a pack of gum, this is definately not a inconspicuous headset. what makes it worse is that while the minimalist front panel design isn't bad, there isn't even an attempt made at making the sides look better - its just 2 pieces of colored plastic screwed together. when the unit is this thick, it just looks ugly and feels cheap.
on the upside, pairing the headset up with phones and PCs is pretty easy, this headset doesn't seem to have a pairing mode - you just need to search for it with your phone and pc, than enter the passcode and thats it.
so, there you have it, the HS25w is a 6th gen BT2.0 headset that's too heavy, too big, and too ugly when worn. i'm probably going to return mine in a few days.
Unimpressive and poor battery life.......2006-02-25
I was originally planning on buying an el cheapo Bluetooth headset for my LG VX8100 but was up-sold to a more expensive, but brand name headset (this Nokia HS-26W).
The only pro that I can think of was the earpiece design. The piece that goes behind your ear is flexible and pretty comfortable. Weight wise it's really light weight.
No for the cons... It was marketed as having ~5 hours of talk time, and plenty of standby time to boot. This was my biggest complaint - the battery life was closer to an hour.
Another problem which plagues many of the low to mid end boom-less headsets is that there's a horrible echo as in the caller hears their own voice.
I used this headset for well over a week before returning it. Having to charge it a few times a day just to handle an hour or two of calls was excessive and unnecessary. Add in the echo problem and there wasn't one good reason too keep this HS.

It says it is 200GB, but no matter what I tried when installing it, I could only get about 130 GB....very disappointing.

This item is actually sold and shipped by Northstar Electronics. Northstar Electronics likes to put nice low prices on their items and then just cancel the order if they decide the price was too low. I'm telling you from experience, do not buy anything from Northstar Electronics. Their customer service and policies are unethical.
