but that's it, just OK. I wouldn't say they're any better than the iPod earphones. The bass is just average, the overall clarity is average. They're good for the price, however. And Sennheiser is a great company with solid products. I also own Etymotic er4 isolators, and they're far superior, but they cost well over $150.00. I guess for the price the MX51's do the job.

Very good entry level earphones and for the price probably the best. And for all the people who don't like IECs this is a very good option. Far far better than what iPod or creative mp3 players comes with by default. You must buy atleast these if not better ones if you at all care for quality in listening to music on portable players.

The set that I received had some noise coming from some wiring problems. I sent it back. I don't know if it happened that I received a defect or if this product has problems acroos the board.

I am definitely satisfied with these earbuds. They deliver good sound without any distortion, even at higher volume levels. I did notice that sometimes the "enhanced bass" or whatever they call it, seems to detract a little bit from the other elements of the music that I'm listening to. It only took me a few minutes to readjust my EQ to fix it. :-D

I bought these headphones recently to replace a second pair of Sennheiser mx450's, neither of which quite lasted out an entire year of my admittedly heavy usage. I thought I'd try moving up a notch on their product line, and decided against the violent green of the sports line.
As I understand (from doing a little product research), the tricky thing with earbud-style headphones is that getting a good sound depends a lot on how they fit into your ear. The mx51's are a little larger than other earbuds I've used, but I still needed the foam pads to get the fit right. Still, with too much exertion they jiggle out of place a little.
When they're in my ear right, the bass is excellent. Either the highs and mids are a little weak in comparison, or they're just dwarfed by the bass, I can't tell which. They're not bad, just not superb.
A few other things: they seem to draw more power -- that is, I have to turn my volume higher to get good sound from these. The cord is a good length, although it seems to have a perma-curl to it, and I like the flat-style connector, which I feel is less likely to break. Lastly, it's got a good pouch. My old headphones, like many other brands, had the wind-up case that's too much of a bother to ever use. These have a sort of silver module that lets you drop the delicate earbud parts in, pull a cover on, and wind the cord around the outside -- simple enough that I won't just toss my headphones into my bag as they are.
If you're looking for good-sounding earbuds, these are a fine choice. If you *really* care about bass, then I'd recommend them.

Great product for home and small businesses.......2007-01-20
I have used 3 of these systems at some of my small business customers. This provides a cheap yet reliable source of archiving important materials. It does involve some interaction to establish a good disaster recover plan, but for a small business or individual on a limited budget, it DOES provide a cheap and relatively easy way to establish this. One unit (used for 2 years) went bad and was replaced by a newer version. The software had to be updated adn reconfigured, but it's been going well ever since. Now the failure was not a hardware issue as the unit was dropped several times and was handled a bit rough. All 3 customers love it and continue to use it (one's been using it for 4 years)!

Nice system, but not whisper quiet........2004-07-02
This is a nice system for automated backup of your computer drive. It maintains a complete image copy of your computer's drive so in the case of a disk crash you can copy everything back in one step, with no need to reinstall the operating system or individual applications. You also have the option of removing the backup disk drive from its case and installing it directly into your PC for a replacement. You then would buy a new disk drive to put back in the ABS unit.
I was also interested in the Seagate External Hard Drive. Some comparisons:
--The Seagate comes with a stripped-down version of the CMS backup software. With the ABSPlus you get the full version, a $50 value. It gives you versioning, synchronization, automatic disk formatting to match your computer drive, etc. I didn't need all those features but I figured that with the Seagate version there would be at least one or two missing features I would regret not having.
--The ABSPlus has a power on/off switch like the Seagate. The unit can be mounted vertically, but it does not have a stand for added security like the Seagate.
--I have heard that the Seagate is so quiet you almost can't hear it. The ABSPlus is not that quiet - you hear a moderate fan-like sound when it's turned on. If I were to keep the unit on all the time I wouldn't like having the added noise in the room. In my case, though, I only turn the unit on when I am running a backup. The backup software has a feature that will prompt you on a schedule to back up your drive. So I turn the unit on when I get the prompt, run the backup, then turn the drive off until the next scheduled backup.
--The ABSPlus does not have a button to run the backup like the Seagate, but again, I rely on the backup software to be prompted and to run the backup so I don't find the unit button necessary at all.
--The Seagate supports both USB and Firewire in the same unit. It also might be a slightly better value on a per-gigabyte basis.
Bottom-line: Both units can be used for backup and/or additional storage. Seagate seems to emphasize its use for storage, the ABSPlus emphasizes its use for backup and provides the more robust backup software version.
120 GB Auto Backup System Review.......2004-03-11
I am a computer user with intermediate skills. I started to load the program and I received a message stating that the disc wasn't registerred, and asked for the registration number. I went to the CMS/ABS plus site and checked for problems. I found my problem listed. I called technical support and was given a registration number to insert. I entered the registration number and the proram/systen began installation. (I have Windows 2000 operating system on my computer.) It worked just as stated in the Quick Start Guide. You will need to print the guide and read it to fully understand the operation.
