My Terastation is just over a year old. I have replaced two drives so far. last week it failed to power up. I have been trying to work with their tech service for over a week. They never have anyone available to talk to you. They do not answer e-mails. After trying for three days I finally got a tech on the phone by waiting over an hour. He said he would replace the unit. He needed to fill out some paperwork and would call me back in 10 minutes. Two days later I got ahold of someone in sales who said she did not know anything about it and there was no record of my call. Then the next day I got an e-mail form to fill out for an RMA. I did and two days ago and have been unable to reach anyone since. Their support is so bad I would never buy anything from them again.
They have now told me that all they can do is sell me a new unit with drives. They do not sell empty boxes or power supplies.
I bought a Infrant ReadyNAS empty box. They cost a bit more but are a much better company and do sell parts for their boxes.

Final have Fax, a cordless phone with 4 headsets, DSL on one phone line. Like the idea that incoming fax will not ring the phone. Works as expected!
Command Communications Comswitch 5500 .......2007-11-29
This worked exactly as advertised. I have distinctive ring on my phone and needed it routed to my computer fax. I had to call their tech service to get the exact coded to put into the unit. It was easy to get through and they were very helpful. Highly recommended.
Not on a braodband.......2007-10-23
It may be great on the normal landline but not on a digital voice or broadband. It will not work if you try to hook up fax machine and a digital voice or broadband.
Not only saves on phone bill, simplifies your number for customers........2007-09-09
This little gadget will save its cost back in only a couple of months. The product works as described and allows you to use one phone line to automatically handle incoming voice calls and faxes seamlessly, thereby eliminating the need for a dedicated fax line. This is the second one of these we have purchased for our small business, as the first one lasted about 12 months, then stopped working consistently, so long term reliability might be an issue, but since the savings payback period is so quick, the $50 purchase price is easy to bear. Phone fidelity is not adversely affected, and having just one number for customers to remember has also been a benefit. Installation is not complicated--consists mostly of just plugging jacks into the correct outlets. Documentation is good, and you don't have to be a rocket surgeon to change the factory settings if you need to.
A good product that is reasonably priced and does what it says it will do. Cool.
Comswitch 5500 - Does the job .......2007-06-27
The Command Communications Comswitch 5500 was a good choice. Needed a FAX/Second phone line for business office. Simple to set up, performs as expected and have had no problems. Saw other systems for $30-40 more, but
cannot imagine them performing better than the 5500. Highly recemmend for fax/phone split off one line. Not using for 3.
