Thumbs Up for Vibes.......2007-12-25
I've owned the Vibes for a couple of months now. They're the most expensive headphones I've ever owned. That being said, they're also the best I've ever owned. I was looking for a product with good bass but that was also clear and accurate, which led me to the Vibes. Sound quality is very good. The bass is tight and clean. The mids and highs are also very clean and clear. I listen to literally all types of music and after using these, my music had a new depth to it. You can turn them up pretty loud without distortion. They do an ok job of blocking out background noise. Being small and lightweight make them very comfortable to wear and they stay in place. My only gripe is that jack since the it is difficult to pull out if your hands are oily.
Overall, I'd recommend these to anyone, enough bass for almost anyone with clear and accurate mids and highs.
Much better than standard iPods.......2007-12-25
Definitely more comfortable than the standard earphones that come with the iPod. Sound is good but I can't say they are better or worse than a set of Bose. Check both if you can. Forget all the specification jargon. Try them, compare them with others if possible, and purchase what sounds good to you.
Worth The Price.......2007-12-24
They are very light and fit well. They are extremely comfortable, and aftrer a bit you don't even notice you are wearing them. They have included one set of white ear pieces in small medium and large and another set in black. The sound is very good, and in fact better than more expensive earbuds. One of the better purchases I have made. Well worth it!
Excellent.......2007-12-22
The V-MODA are the perfect "tiny" earphones. They fit in the ear without pain or discomfort. The sound quality is perfect. Great bass response. The only bad thing about these are the price. It is up there. I was skeptical buying these. But, the reviews were good....so I took a chance. I'm glad I did. But, my stupid self lost mine the same week I bought them and I just ordered another set. That should let you know how good they are.
Not Happy.......2007-12-21
These ear buds have inconsistent volume side to side. The right side failed completely after only 30 hours of use in less than 1 month. Waiting for the manufacturer to honor the warranty.

I heard this company's products in their demo room at a high-end audio show in 2006. I came in skeptical about the sound quality of a brand with no retail representation, and I was proven totally wrong. Aperion was demonstrating several of their lines, including the Intimus set above, with a 60" HD plasma TV and some very high end electronics. Well, they say that sound is half the home theater experience, and this was proof...action was involving and immediate, bass thumped tightly, music was extraordinarily clean and open, and live concert video seemed to have musicians in the room with us.
I brought several CDs of well-recorded music like Dire Straits' Brothers In Arms and the Grateful Dead's American Beauty, and the reps played both. String instruments and vocals sounded truly "there" and the experience was very like listening to a live event. These speakers were also very "neutral" and to my ears, accurate, not weak or over-emphasized in any particular frequency area.
A 5.1 channel set by an equivalent manufacturer (NAD, Boston Acoustics, Atom, etc.) with a specialized retail network would undoubtedly cost well over $1,000, and probably over $1,500 for similar value. Yes, these speakers come from an internet manufacturer, but they guarantee complete satisfaction or they'll refund your purchase price. If I didn't have a very good speaker setup now (NHT Super Ones, Center One and SW2 sub), I'd strongly consider buying this set.

Not good with G5 Mac.......2007-12-23
Before buying any WD Raptor high performance hard drives for use in a Mac G5... search the WD website until you find the tech support article that says some are not compatible. I thought we were all past this sort of stupid problem, but apparently not. WD apparently held back on publicly admitting this for way too long.
The Raptor is "enterprise class" and marketed as being built for heavy usage. And it does SEEM to work ok in a Mac dual G5 tower. But under heavy usage it locks up the OS really badly. (Like every other week, but sometimes goes 80 days). This cost us untold grief & thousands of dollars before figuring it out 13 months later. Adding a PCI SATA card fixed the problem. WD blames Apple, but Apple says they are at SATA spec. Whatever, it was a horrible combo until we added the basic (bootable) Sonnet pci sata card to drive the WD Raptor drives. Do your homework & beware.
