I bought this item to use with my mp3 player in the car or at work. I also use it for listening to my police scanner in the car when its too windy to hear it otherwise. It is the first item of this type I have owned and I am very satisfied with it so far. It is simple, straightforward, and basic, which I like. There is an on/off button and up/down buttons to change frequencies. There is also an lcd display which even has a backlight. It also can transmit up to at least 30 feet away with a good frequency. The only thing I would change is to add a cigarette plug option for power.
