Customer Reviews:
good sound but not very durable. Earbuds are uncomfortable.......2007-03-10
These headphones sound pretty nice, however, my first pair only lasted a couple weeks before it shorted out and my second pair only lasted a couple months or so. I tried the earbuds as well and did not like them at all. I do not like earbuds anyway, but these seem especially uncomfortable and they always feel like theyre falling out of my ears.
Solid And Well Rounded -- Koss UR21 (4.5 Stars).......2007-02-23
For some time now I've been using a pair of Sennheiser PX100s for my home stereo system. And for those who have no idea, they cost about sixty dollars MSRP. And I have once used a Sony MDRV6 and a Sennheiser HD280, so I pretty much know what sounds good and what completely sucks-the-big-one. My PX100s have recently bit the dust and was using a pair of cheap headphones that came with my CD player that sounded much too bright.
Two weeks down the line and I met up with the Koss UR21. Now, you're probably reading this confused and perplexed on why I'd only spend twenty bucks and not just get a pair of audiophile headphones that cost four to five times that amount? Well firstly, these were given to me by a friend who certainly dislikes the full-size type of headphones like these and instead prefers the basic over-the-head kind like the PX100s, Sony MDR101LPs, or the Koss UR5. And the funny thing is, this same one came with the Koss P3 earbuds I also reviews. So basically, I was given the entire package free. Talk about overwhelmed. Anyhow, so why am I still using these? And better yet, why am I using this since I gave them one star a couple months back? First, I found I was wearing these incorrectly, and I bet the rest of these reviewers are since they complain about lack of low bass and mid frequencies, while I find them bass-heavy. The very end of the pad should be touching the end of your ear. This will make a very good seal and the sound out of the speakers will come through. And, well, before I was wearing them incorrectly.
So how do they sound now? Excellent, amazing for the price. Now, I'm not going to be a boaster saying they sound like the MDRV6 or HD280. Because they do not. Somewhat close, but not. But, I must say these are a great value, and do sound a bit like the Sennheiser PX100s in a way. Slightly warm, with a clear sound. Let's talk about bass. Very decent, at about half volume I'd say they go to about 30Hz, which is more than enough bass for even the picky. Bass is good, but slightly overwhelming. It's not bad, in fact I'm a bass head myself, but audiophiles will likely pass these off as "warm sounding". Also the upper bass region seems a bit enhanced and overpowered, but again most people buying headphones in this price range would enjoy a subwoofer to their head. So to sum up, slightly overpowered but great bass. Mids sounded a lot like most Koss headphones, "out-there" without overpowering anything. Especially 200-1k were audiophile quality, which makes rock thrive and make live performances sound more natural. As with almost any pair in this price range, the upper mids were slightly harsh, but nothing intolerable. To add on, treble doesn't roll off one bit, and really does add some solid detail to your music. In overall terms, a solid headphones for the hip-hop/rap lover (because of the great bass) or the live performances craver (because of the solid mids and detail). Not sonically flat, but way better than anything you'll find in this price range, and might please some mild audiophiles.
In other terms, these headphones are very comfortable for long usage, but are definitely not for the summer when your ears start to sweat. And, it's likely just me, but the foam pads really make my ears itchy after some time. The headphones seem pretty strudy as long as they aren't bent. The plastic on the sides of the headphones will likely distort over time, but the headphones in general do look pretty cool. Regardless of the Amazon photo, they are more of a dark silver than a white color. The cord is a good four feet, which is very short for me, but I bought an extension cord a long time ago to use with my stereo system, so this is not an issue for me. The headphones also have an L-jack so if you do use these with your iPod or etc, the plug will last much longer than the straight plug that gets bumped around and breaks the plug.
Overall, a very, very solid headphone for the very low price, which in full-sized cans is hard to find. Not sonically perfect, no headphone in this price is, but they are better than most. And not to mention they look cool, are comfortable, and are very inexpensive. Overall, a good full-size can for those wanting a good sounding and well-rounded pair of full-sized headphones without spending a ton. 4.5 stars.
Money waisted on headphones!.......2007-02-07
These are terrible- made cheaply. Had only 1 month and they broke. When I asked about the lifetime warranty- they wanted me to send the broken headphones to them which would cost $6.00- 7.00 in postage and them also send them an additional $6.00 so they could ship one back to me.
(so instead of paying $19.00 for the headphones - they are really costing: $19.00 + $7.00+$6.00= $32.00- and who's to say they won't brake again.)
I spent $19.00 for 1 months worth of headphones, that's terrible!
Don't waist your money!
You get what you pay for.......2006-11-18
Very cheap quality headphones. The "Deep Bass" written on the package is misleading because the speakers start tearing at high bass. So if you like music that has lots of bass, these are not the speakers for you. Also, the ear cushions do not fit on your head. The back region is always off my head so you lose the coverage and hence hear everything that goes around you. Unless you like hearing noises around you and not the music, get these. I returned these things right away, so don't waste time buying 'em.
I gave up my old reliable Koss headphones for these THINGS?.......2006-11-04
The time had finally come and my reliable great sounding and well-used Koss TD61's had reached the end of their functional life. I contacted Koss about their lifetime warranty and they told me that my headphones weren't made any longer but if I sent them in, they would be replaced by the UR21's, the things that just arrived today.
Whoever thought up the design of these headphones was most likely coming off a long three or four day weekend. The headpiece is pure plastic and a cheap grade of it at that. There is no real flexibility there. And you can't just put the headphones straight on. No, these are designed with the earpieces at an angle. So you end up having the uncomfortable plastic headpiece up near the front of your head and if you are REALLY lucky, you might be able to get a MILD seal of the earpieces but nothing more.
There is no true isolation here. For one thing, if you can't get that seal over the ears mentioned above, how can your headphones isolate its sounds from ambient sounds?
And of course, the sound. IF you turn the volume up really high on any device, portable or home stereo system, you will get "three star" sound. But you have to push so much power to get there that distortion creeps in and drops it quickly back to "one star" without proper equalization. So sound with major power behind it to drive the headphones rounds out to "two stars." But for the trouble, the whole set up is really just a 1 star (really doesn't even deserve that) set up.
For only a little more, you can get a truly fantastic product that Koss makes: The PortaPro. They work with any system, have extraordinary sound, comfort, flexibility and durability. The Sennheiser PX-100 or PX-200 are also excellent choices depending on what you are looking for. If you are looking noise-blockers, the UR21's don't do the job. If you are looking for a good all-purpose headphone, the UR21's again don't do the job. If you want to block some external noise but not spend an arm and a leg, the Sennheiser PX-200 is the set you want. If sound blocking doesn't matter but price is an issue, I'd recommend the PortaPros. You might also want to consider the Koss KSC75's. Well rated and completely portable.
In conclusion, I can't believe I sent away my good headphones for "THESE THINGS." What a waste. You really can do better.

The symmetrical D'Appolito (woofer-tweeter-woofer) configuration, is specially voiced for dialogue and optimized for central positioning. The 404 is also magnetically shielded which means it can be placed close to (even on top of) a TV and other sources without interference. Mordaunt-Short has been designing and manufacturing loudspeakers for more than thirty years. Naturally, we have seen a great many changes in that time. Our company has maintained its leading position by consistently responding to - and frequently introducing - new technologies and materials. However, one factor has remained more important to our success and has guaranteed the continued satisfaction of our customers: a passion for music. We certainly relish pushing technology but we refuse to release a new model simply because it's innovative or technically superb. No loudspeaker leaves our factory until it has passed the one test that really matters: its musical performance has to put smiles on the faces of everyone in our listening room.

DO NOT BUY!.......2001-09-29
This is an extremely bad burner. Only like one out of ten copy attempts actually work and even then it is not that fast. On most occasions, the software says that there was an error. When you look up the error on the help menu, the trouble-shooting for that problem is not even there. The only good thing about this package is that the software is very user friendly. Nonetheless, do not buy this burner. You will sorely regret it.
