Pros: it's a USB flash drive, portable, with all of the other benefits of USB flash drives.
Cons: it's a USB flash drive that costs more than others due the fingerprint reader. The fingerprint reader is lacking in accuracy. I need to swipe my finger several times in order for it to be recognized. In order to use the fingerprint reader you will need to be an "administrator" on EVERY computer on which you intend to use this device, which is not practical. Software is limited to Microsoft 2000 SP4 or newer operating systems, although this will not be much of an issue for Windows users. Software only supports Internet Explorer favorites. Encryption is limited to individual files.
Recommendation: Pass on this one and buy a higher capacity USB flash drive for the same price, then download and use some free file encryption software such as axcrypt ( http://axcrypt.sourceforge.net/ ). Business users should look elsewhere.

One thing Lexar conveniently leaves off the "Requirements" on the packaging is the fact that you need ADMINISTRATOR rights to run their security software. True, the device doesn't require drivers, and the security software is just an executable on the drive itself which you run (no installation necessary), sign on with a fingerprint, and do what you will. Unfortunately, without admin rights, you can forget all that--it's only useful as a USB drive.
This drive is capable of storing login information for web sites supposedly encrypted, and protected by one or more of your fingerprints, and Lexar touts that you take this information with you to whatever machine you plug it into. That's true, but unless every machine you plug it into has admin rights, you can forget that too.
If Lexar comes up with an update to their software that runs without admin rights, it will be a great product, but since many companies limit rights on employee PCs (including my own), this device has limited use--in my case the home PC only.

Do NOT get this gadget if you are looking for a secure/lockable portable USB storage device for files. The Lexar hype is misleading.
It only encrypts individual files (not even folders) using the software package that comes with it. The device is always open (just like a regular USB thumb drive). The only thing the fingerprint reader or password does is open up the software on your PC. Once the software is open, you can unencrypt individual files or use the integrated IE password storer.

So in conclusion, the only thing it is good for is saving IE bookmarks and saving IE browser Web page login passwords.
(and goofing around with a finger print reader)
