I bought the headset to be able to enjoy surround sound while playing my favorite game Americas Army on my Laptop.
I got it to work ONCE! It was awsome! Great sound, I was able to tell exactly where shots or voices were coming from. Absoulutely great!
But after shutting the PC down and rebootig the next day, I couldn't get the same great sound anymore. It was all kind of... well, just stereo!
Then I updated from AA 2.8.1 to 2.8.2
Now I get all kind of echo, like in a basement.
I reinstalled the driver, the software, even the game!
No change. I checked trough all the settings. Nothing wrong.
I wrote 3 e-mails to the LTB customer service. Zero response, absolutely nothing!
And that is actually what gets me the most. If there is an incompatibility, I want to hear it from them!
That one day when the headset worked, it was great. But it is a little too expensive for just one day...
The microphone in the headset is not ideal. It is mounted too close to the speakers. It picks up sounds from the game and feeds them back into TeamSpeak, so all other players hear gunshots twice: once in the game, and with about a second delay on TS. It is possible to reduce that quite a bit, but I was not able to get rid of it completely.

This product is very good for people who have laptops without sound cards. It provides 3D sound with all the games I have tried (Half-Life and its mods and sequels, and some other first person shooters). There's a program you install that enables you to customize how the sound...well...sounds. For example you can make it so that it sounds like you are listening to the sounds inside of a cave or an airplane hangar or a bathroom, along with a myriad of other locations. Very interesting software.
The problem I had with it was whenever I am surfing the web and a gif image or large image file shows up, there is a strange constant irritating static sound. I saw this problem on the LTB Product FAQ page, but their solutions did not work and they have not replied to my emails. Basically, I just try to avoid gif images. It works fine when playing a DVD movie, sounds incredible actually, with the impressive bass. But if it were not for that static problem, I would've given this product 5 stars.
Good Sound but Uncomfortable.......2007-06-13
These headphones are very uncomfortable. Not all heads are the same but with all the adjustments I made to them I could barely have them on for 10 minutes before I began to develop a headache.
With that stated I do think they have good sound quality, not spectacular but good (I thought the base was a bit overwhelming and the surround speakers sounded scratchy). The USB plug and play fucntionality is also another good quality. The volume control and the mute button that are located on the left earpiece are not very ergonomic.
I did not have the problem with the software (I use WinXP Pro) that other reviewers have had but as far as I could tell the software was needed to make use of the 5.1 funtionality.
In conclusion I don't recommend these headphones.

These headphones came with two software cd's one was suppose to be an updated version. Neither cd worked and in fact messed up my hard-drive. I e-mailed the manufacture, and no response, and no repose or help from amazon as well. Beware!!

I really like the idea of a simple USB plugin based 5.1 surround sound headphone. This one almost makes it a reality and for the price, I guess it accomplishes the goal.
But, I would have liked a better sound quality, the bass is good but the highs are somewhat lacking and that is what provides the direction of the sound.
The plastic headphone itself is light weight and comfortable but it feels like if you drop them a couple of times they will fall apart.
But for $50+ they work pretty good.

Just what I needed for an external USB floppy drive.......2001-09-10
We have an iBook and an iMac, both running OS9. We installed the VST external floppy in minutes and were up and running, easily moving the drive from one computer to the next (although, as the documentation warned, the floppy drive must be directly connected to the USB port or a powered hub, for example daisy-chaining off the iMac's USB keyboard does not supply enough power to the drive). Unplugging the drive while the disk is mounted on the desktop automatically dismounted the drive too. This drive was simple to setup and and is easy to use - just what we needed!

I ordered this floppy drive in order to save data to an external media with an iMac running OS X. The drive itself seems well constructed, although I was disappointed that it did not come with a grape "skin".
OS X interoperability is poor, however. OS X recognizes the drive when it is plugged in to the usb port, and recognizes the disk if it is inserted when the drive is plugged in. HOWEVER, ejecting a disk after it is connected to the computer doesn't work.
Some of this may be because OS X is expecting software-controlled ejects, but it is still disappointing. VST still doesn't have an OS X driver available (as of 7/30/01). Unfortunately, this seems to be the only game in town.

A good basic floppy drive.......2001-02-22
I have these drives on all our new Macs because many still use floppies to bring work home. All have functioned properly so what can I say? If you need a floppy drive on a new Mac this is a good one to buy. It is thin and travels well if you need it on the road. It does not read 800K disks.

I'm not sure whether the software is buggy or the disk drive itself is just not able to read disks, but I wasn't able to read either PC or Mac disks with this disk drive. I double-checked everything from the USB plug to the software installation and used disks I knew were good. No matter what I did, the disk drive insisted that the disk was damaged and refused to read it.
Furthermore, when the disk drive wouldn't read my disk, it would affect my entire USB network and put my printer on the fritz as well. It's literally worse than useless.
Time for me to enter the new millennium and maybe get one of those flashy Zip drives. This floppy disk drive, though, is getting returned.
