Unreliable, a complete pain.......2007-10-26
The mechanism is terribly unreliable. Their tech support people have helped me to get it going every time it's been broken, but getting through to tech support is slow, and then working on fixing the machine is slow. Once I had to send it back in (lots of time spent lugging the big beast to a shipping store, and shipping it was expensive, then it took several weeks to get it back). Another time they shipped me a new recorder unit, and I had to buy a special screwdriver to disassemble the unit and install it.
Don't waste your time on this lemon. Use a professional duplicating service.

I had nothing but problems with this 360i. I own another one and it has been less trouble. I called support with a series of gripper errors (20 minute hold time). They say they are phasing these out and I should by the 2000i series, but they DOA the unit and replace it. I couldn't get it to burn more than 4 in a row. After fiddling with it for about a month, I returned it. I am going to try the Primera systems now.
The first one I bought had a some problems at the beginning but after they DOA'd that one, the replacement worked fine for months. I am having some gripper arm issues now, and working with support on it. I love the units when they work, and support aways does the right thing but I wouldn't recommend it to someone who needs to make more than 30 CDs a week.

It was a pain to use for a while, then it broke.
The robotic arm that picks up the CDs out of the drive when they are done doesn't work.
The combination of the CD drawer not opening far enough and the arm not holding it tightly causes the CD to drop back into the drive and the drive drawer to close. You can't get the finished CD out unless you reach up the narrow dropdown tube with your skinny arm and grab the CD at the right time, out of the drive. This is painful and annoying.
The website said there was a driver to fix the problem, but guess what, it didn't.
I hate this thing and it has been sitting in my house for a year.

Ok here we go... When I purchased this item the title said "100 disc rimage 360i dvd/cd duplicator and printer" there were no real techinical details on the page. I did'nt see it only did 25 discs until it arrived and I read the manual. The manual by the way is horrible it is brief and does'nt fully help you with any problems. I decided to just deal with the 25 disc output fiquring it was just a big hassle. Next hassle was the 2.0 usb connection this I was aware of so I planned ahead and purchased one for my laptop I planned on using to run the machine. I hooked everything up and it was fine I ran a few test disc's and was pleased when I had seen and heard the results so I decided to activate the software. You would think this machine prints money by the security activation for the software. It was a serious pain in the butt. I used the online activation mode and you have to put in your whole life story as well as 4 codes you have to find yourself on the machine. Once I filled everything out the page would not let me enter the product name and I could'nt procide. I did this 3 times still no change. Then I called the rimage tch support to register and got an answering machine saying to state my info and they would "try" to contact me in less then 12 hours!! F that 12 hours!!! So I went back a 4th time the next day and finally the registration worked. Fired up the machine put in "25" for the quantity and let it go till I relized the next problem. The machine started making reject discs. In the add it says "error free production" what the hell!! Every other disc that came out said "reject" and printed a whole wasted of ink all over it. I ran it 3 times and everytime it still did this. So I go to rimage for more help. First thing I see when I get to the support page is " No support for laptop use you must use a desktop" Where was this info in the system requirements when I was reseaching the product???????? Nowhere!! does it say no laptops. Overall I still did'nt solve the "reject" problem. I think this machine and concept is really inefficent and I am really dis-satisfied. I put in several hours of problem solving and only have 7 good copys to show for it.

Beware of incompatibility.......2006-05-17
The installation guide is written in Chinese and Chinglish (something between Chinese and English). Fortunately, you probably won't need it. My biggest complaint is that, as the "reminder" on the first page of the User's Manual indicates (it would have been nice if Amazon's product description had said so), compatibility is restricted to laptop computers having built-in USB slots. So you can't add a USB card to your laptop and expect to use this drive.

Ridiculously fast, lots of space for storing music, data, photos, etc. Transfer rate is ridiculously fast. This drive fits into any laptop case. I wouldn't ever consider going elsewhere for my drives.
