The Proletariat Noise Canceling Headphones with Link come with one plug for the handsfree port of your mobile phone and a standard 3.5mm miniplug for a music player. When a call comes in while you're listening to your music player, you can either mute the music entirely or reduce it with the in-line volume control. A super-sensitive mic picks up your side of the conversation. The caller on the other end will not be able to hear the music you're playing.
The system supports mobile phone models with voice-dialing features, so you can make calls with the simple touch of the Proletariat Noise Canceling Headphones with Link console button. The button can also be used to access specific features of your phone, such as connect, disconnect, last-call redial, voice dialing, mute, etc.
Most phones are designed or can be programmed to ring into a headset automatically when a call comes in. Otherwise, you'll be able to feel an incoming call by setting your phone to vibrate mode and keeping it in your pocket or on your belt.
Noise canceling technology works by electronically producing sound waves opposite to the ambient sound outside your headphones. Canceling noise allows you to hear your music at lower volumes. NC headphones are ideal for use in noisy offices and during travel.

all good 'cept for the noise cancelling which does remove low frequencies, but impinges on the sound a bit and ads white noise at a higher pitch.

Minus:
These were some of the most uncomfortable headphones I've ever worn.
There is a hum/buzz sound when noise canceling is turned on.
One of the hinges broke about a year after purchased them.

The folded up very nicely when I tossed them in the waste bucket.
If you can not afford Bose.......2007-01-10
these head phones are as close to the Bose system that I can go.
It is about slightl less than 1/3 the price but they do the trick.

Pros:
1. Seems to be well constructed ... time will tell!
2. Good sound quality
3. Equally good noise canceling capabilities....if you're looking for tomb-like silence, then you'll be better off with industrial strength sleep medication. No NC headphones are 100% sound insulating (which is a good thing)
4. Works in standard (i.e. non NC) mode even without batteries
Cons:
1. Takes 2 AAA batteries (and not 1 AA as mentioned in the product description)
2. A little tight around the ears -- probably need to get used to it
3. While the 'skull cap' style bag looks avant garde enough for a high school teenager, I would have preferred a more solid travel kit ... common guys, it can't be THAT much more expensive!
