Great Skin for iPod Photo.......2006-08-31
I searched high and low for a skin to fit my 60GB iPod Photo and had terrible luck. The local Apple Store didn't even carry them. When I discovered the Speck IP-ST1C I was thrilled! When I received it I was even more thrilled! it was a perfect fit and the display is quite readable through the plastic overlay. It is rubberized so if you drop the iPod, it will act as good padding and protection. The thickness is approximately an eighth of an inch. Plenty of protection. Even the USB connector slot is protected with a flip-open flap. There is plenty of open space at the top to accomodate accessories such as the iTrip and it sits up there very snugly. I recommend this to anyone owning the 60GB iPod Photo and wanting to replace an otherwise worn out skin.
Does not work with iPod 30GB Photo........2005-08-10
This skin does not fit iPod 30GB Photo. It is loose on the iPod 30GB Photo. The plastic screen protector will not stay in place and will scratch your screen. I returned mine.
self-defeating plastic.......2005-08-08
The screen protector with this iPod skin is a separate, loose piece of plastic that is supposedly held in place by the skin's edges. It doesn't really work. I found that the protector moved around quite a bit, and actually sratched my screen. I tossed it, and ended up having to buy the plastic film that adheres to the screen and click wheel, which cost another $15. In the end, I probably should have gone with the hard plastic case that offers total protection.
A case that actually works well.......2005-07-16
For those whom this may concern, this case also fits the iPod 30GB Photo. The case isn't as tight as people describe it but it fits perfectly. This case doesn't make the ipod much thicker. It barely adds any weight on in fact.
The plastic that it's made of is great. It is definately scratch resistant; it's so strong that you could use a pocket knife and scratch the back and your ipod won't even be harmed. When you put the case into jean pockets, it tends to stick in there so taking it out will inside-out your pockets (I hope that made sense). This case will not slid off a dashboard either (although I wouldn't recommend it). Although the packaging says that it's shock absorbant, I don't recommend dropping your iPod.
For a screen protector and wheel protector, I recommend that you cut out a piece of paper protecter and slip that into the case. The hard plastic that the cases come in will also work but after you cut it out, you'll have to use sandpaper to sand it smooth so it doesn't scratch you iPod once you put it in.
After you have the plastic in the case, you're ipod will be completely protected. The only thing i don't like is the top is too wide open and dust tends to get in from the top. The bottom of the case is perfect; it closes completely so the case also acts as a dock protector.
I have an iPod 20 GB also, and this fits that as well. As for the 40GB iPods, I wouldn't recommend it. My friends who have the 40GB iPod tell me that it doesn't not fit. Some have been able to JAM the ipod into the case but that cannot be good for it.
Taking an iPod (20/30GB) out of the case is very easy and smooth. It will not scratch the ipod at all when you put it in or take it out.
For those people who sync thousands of songs at a time, you should take your iPod out of the case because the harddrive gets hot and the skin is only making it hotter... hot = bad.
Overall, this case is wonderful. I wouldn't recommend anything as this price is perfect COMPARED TO OTHER CASES. Honestly speaking, I think that these cases took less than 25 cent to make in a factory and I believe that the price is outrageous. Like I said however, COMPARED TO OTHER CASES' PRICES, this is actually pretty good.
Pros:
+ Long lasting material
+ Cheaper than other cases
+ Scratch resistant
+ Doesn't scratch iPod when removing/putting on
+ You can dock/charge/sync iPod without removing case
Cons:
- You have to make your own screen/wheel protection
- The case's top is a little too large and allows dust to enter
- Doesn't have holes in the back to let the iPod "breathe"
5/5 *****

Specification Error.......2004-04-23
Viking Components configurator specified this memory for my HP Pavilion 502n desktop. It did not work with my system.
Mismatched Info.......2003-10-04
for some reason, the product ordered did not work in the HP model I have. After waiting weeks for delivery, I cannot remember the exact process for getting the memory configured, but I know how critical it is to provide the correct model number, etc., so I'm highly disappointed. Also, the number on the item itself doesn't match the number on the box or the number ordered. Further, Amazon reports a 24-7 technical service number for Viking. Try calling it a reasonable time, like Saturday morning around 11:00, and they will tell you they are a M-F 9-5 outfit. Further, 3 attempts to cancel the remaining portion of the order have done nothing but bounce me back to the wrong screens.
It Works Great! But No Installation Instructions!.......2003-07-15
In fact, there were no instructions at all. I had to go to the PC manufacturers web site and print the instructions to install the memory. The memory works fine, but the marketing blurb said there were 'comprehensive install instructions'. What's up with that?
