I had purchase this product because I needed a floppy drive and their website mentions it was compatible with Vista O/S. When I recieved the floppy drive it just would not work with my Vista O/S it kept asking me to insert a disk in the drive when I already had a disk in the drive.
I also notice the Smartdisk box had no printed any notice on the box itself to be use in any Vista O/S. I guess it was take your chance.
Printed were 98e to XP.
But the FDUSB-TM2, FDUSB-B2 did not work on my Vista O/S.
Perhaps it may work on yours.
I guess it would be great for XP users and take your chances for your
Vista machines.

I have Windows Vista so I just had to plug this little drive into the USB port with the cable that's included and it was up and running in no time. The drive is very small and just sits on top of the computer out of the way. It's a convenience to me because I've got a lot of old files and pictures on floppy diskettes, but my new computer didn't come with a floppy drive.

This little floppy works great. It wasn't the color I was expecting. Thought it would be more of a metallic look, but that's ok. Works fast. Intially ordered this item from Dell which was back ordered. Found it on Amazon and received it w/in days.

This drive is compact and works well, but be aware that it INCLUDES a USB connection cord. I presumed that it didn't and ordered the "better together" USB a/b cord to go with it that amazon recommends. Of course, I don't need the extra cord and now I have to pay shipping to return it!

Flawed design.......2006-11-24
I used this product for almost a year for my 60GB video iPod. Looking at it on Amazon, it looked like exactly what I wanted. However, when I got it, I found some major flaws:
1. The dock connector plug is almost unusable. The dock plug fits in, but is almost impossible to get out. (The trick here is to use the lanyard to push the release buttons.)
2. The earphone cutout is too small to use any third-party headphones or even Apple's own multimedia out cable. Used a Dremel to fix this.
3. The latches that hold the case shut failed in less than a year, which is why I finally replaced it.
That said, if you can live with flaws 1 and 2, this case does a very good job of protecting an iPod.

The case fits the iPod nicely, but I'm not sure the designers tried it out before manufacturing it. The hinges interfere with the little buttons on the side of the plug that allow it to be unplugged. Other than that MAJOR oversight, I like it...
