Absolutely Wonderful, Very Comfortable.......2007-11-20
Brilliant audio range and wonderful frequency response through the whole spectrum. Requires a little bit more power to drive them if you're used to some cheaper headphones. It's easy to understand why Sennheiser labels these as being DJ headphones; The cord is only about three feet long, but it is coiled and extends to more than six feet, perfect for use on a mixing deck. The right ear piece can be rotated away to allow for single ear use in mixing, and the set still feels comfortable when used this way.
The main reason I picked these out is for comfort over extended periods of wearing them. First thing I did when I got them was spent four hours uninterrupted listening to my favorite music while working on my computer. After four hours, they still felt as comfortable as when I first put them on. The cans are more than spacious enough to fit the whole ear without pressing against the lobe or cartilage. The temples of my glasses fit comfortably inside the space without any pinching. Isolation isn't perfect, but it shut out most of the fan noise from my PC, enough that I could hear the background hiss produced by my cheap soundcard. The padding is soft and permeable, allowing my ears to breath enough that they didn't sweat.
All in all, probably the best pair of headphones I've owned.

These are the best headphones I have ever owned, they're comfortable for wearing for hours at a time, reasonably priced, look great, and filter out ambient noise reasonably well. More or less exactly what I was looking for in a headphone, really adds new depth to music, and are very durable without being too heavy. My only complaint would be that there's no real way to stow the cord, it is coiled so that helps, but its still kinda long for regular mobile use. I would highly recommend this product, you will not be disappointed.
The Headphones I Was Looking For.......2007-10-09
These headphones are exactly what I was looking for. Immediately after putting them on, I noticed that all sound around me was muffled. This, of course, was exactly what I was going for. Not only do they block out little noises around you that would otherwise interrupt your music-listening experience, they block out the unneeded guitar riffs of your apartment-mate who is in the next room over. The sound quality is excellent and although the bass isn't "in-your-face-going-to-feel-like-eardrum-rattling" sound, it has a healthy beat to it that you can feel. The detachable cord from the headphone totally eliminates the bending of the cable at the head of the cord when storing, which SHOULD eliminate most long term short-circuit problems. Overall, these headphones are extremely nice, and hopefully they last for a long time, which they seem like they will be.
Excellent Value and Great in a Technical Environment.......2007-09-24
My use is atypical of the average reviewer, as I am using these Sennheiser SD 215s in a technical environment listening to very weak radio signals through custom & specialized equipment.
Once "burnt in" the HD 215s have proven very useful in this application. The audio out I'm listening to has multi-stage filtering, Digital Sound Processing (DSP), Noise Blocking (NB), Notch Filtering, and a 8-band custom equalizer with sound gate.
When I use the HD 215s with a conventional audio source their value stands. They are priced very modestly yet deliver sound reproduction usually associated with headphones costing 2-4 times as much.

Bought these headphones in March '07, and I couldn't be happier. The frequency response of these babies is impressive and are very durable during heavy playback (I mean 15-20 hours playing). An absolute gem in all respects. A bonus is that the headphones have an adjustable right-ear cup that can twist around so then you don't waste time taking them off when someone is talking to you or you are busy mixing away in a club.
The 3m cable is extremely useful if you need to move around and reach for other things without having to leave your headphones down. The screw-on adaptor is a nice safety feature that ensures that the headphones are secured properly to any deck without risking the jack popping out of the adaptor (as it has happened several times with other headphones models before).
Absolute respect for this product.
