Watch your ears........2007-12-17
Bought these as a replacement for my Panasonic RPHC300 noise-cancelling headphones, which I was very happy with, but which broke on me. These were slightly cheaper and cool-looking, so I took a chance.
Unfortunately, not only is the sound a little muffled and bassy, but the "noise-cancelling" actually produces a nearly-painful low-frequency thudding sound. It's faint, but it seems to produce pressure on the ear in the closed space within the over-the-ear headphone. After a couple of days with these (and I wear headphones 12-15 hours a day as part of my job), my right ear was ringing. This still has not entirely gone away. Sent an email to Skullcandy days ago, asking if this was some kind of malfunction, but still have not received a reply, hence seeking relief here.
So, to sum up: sound -- not great; noise-cancelling -- disastrous. If you buy these, I recommend NOT using that feature.

Very good sound and feel for the price. The battery is in a bit of a weird area ...but just keep one battery in when you aren't using and it will never accidentally turn on (draining the batteries).
Noise Reducing.......2007-08-27
This product does well at reducing minor noise. I believe it was designed with air travel in mind and it does indeed cancel out background noise such as the sound of the plane's engines or the hum of a refrigerator. It does not cancel louder noises, such as a lawnmower engine, but does mute it somewhat. The main problem I have with it is that it plays music satisfactorily when plugged into a CD player, but when plugged into a computer it developes an irritating hum.

Can't believe how good these are for the money. Plugged into my cpu to listen to music; had TV on at same time. As soon as I turned on NC, I couldn't hear the TV. Can't wait to use on plane. Would recommend to anyone who wants some p & q in noisy situations.

I received these headphones about two days after I ordered them with standard shipping. The package was difficult to open but after some intense scissoring I got the headphones out. My first impression was that they looked a little fragile though this really wasn't the case, they are quite sturdy.If they break on their own, skull candy replaces them free of charge, if you destroy them, you can get another set for 50% off.
Music Experience:
They play well, even without being "switched on", though the sound is a little muddy. When they are switched on however the sounds are impressive, bright and crisp. There is some noticeable music leakage, though far less then the SC TI. They come with an adapter for the plane as well. The Noise canceling function is very nice though even when turned off and the music at a decent level, it would be hard to hear someone talk unless they were in your face screaming. When no music is playing there is a slight, though pleasant, white noise and all background sounds dissipate except some talking, which is to be expected.
Comfort: I have read reviews that state that this set is uncomfortable and too tight. I and my all normal head-sized friends and family state that they are comfortable, however I can say that after long periods of time, they can become uncomfortable without adjusting. I think you have to get accustomed to them.
My father was so Impressed with these headphones for this price-range that he said they were "the best things he ever heard" and had me order him some.

comfortable with some adjusting, unless your the elephant man.(edit: More noticeably uncomfortable than not, espescially if you wear glasses, however they do feel better when you grow acustomed to them)
Cons:
Some sound leakage at higher volumes
mine didn't come with link system, but I didn't really want it
slight muddyness --when not turned on--, though not noticeable if you never hear how it sounds when turned on or if you have not had access to higher quality headphones.
Would recommend for this for someone who, like me, enjoys high quality sound without shelling out $300+ for Bose Qc2 or similar. I think at this level of sound quality the other 250$ are wasted unless you really have a need for the much higher priced but comparable headphones.

Slightly more expensive than some of the "big names", which are only bare or OEM packages. You get a name-brand DL DVD+-RW drive, but a full package of Roxio, which made it worth the extra $$$.
