VERY Quite, and rns like a charm.......2007-10-12

replaced my old 40gb 4200rpm with this drive. After 1 month of use, not only does my 4 year laptop run much quiter, but boots and runs 30% faster, and laptop battery now lasts longer !!!

In short if u need a drive to replace an old or dead drive, and have no need for tons of space for multimedia, then ur search ends here.

Buy a Hitachi or another brand. I have had 3 of these die most recently on a mac mini. They put these in all of mac mini's. PLEASE DO NOT BUY A MAC MINI unless you replace the HD with a reliable one.

This died less than 6 months after buying it.......2007-10-28

I loved this USB drive when it was working. It provided lots of storage and quick access time. However, even after safely removing it each time and taking care of the drive, it went bad. I have not been able to salvage the date. Western Digital offered to replace it if I sent it back but that doesn't help me much with the data loss. I also don't want to pay shipping to send it back with my data possibly still on it and then have to worry about the replacement going bad as well.
