Ideal for use with video cameras, Audio-Technica's affordable ATR25 offers the convenience of a high-quality stereo pickup in a single, easy to position microphone. Each of the mic's two recording capsules offers a unidirectional polar pattern, rejecting off-axis sound for clean, focused pickups. The ATR25 comes with two cables: a short camera cable with a stereo minijack .125-inch plug and a long recording cable with dual mono minijack plugs and .25-inch adapters for use with recording or public-address equipment. I bought this to go with my Canon ZR800 camcorder and so glad I did! It greatly improves the audio quality. As other reviewers reported, the major con is that there is no indicator light to show it is on and working, so if the battery goes dead and you have it plugged in, you can take a silent movie without knowing it. Just have to be very scrupulous in turning on and off after using it, and check your video occcasionally to make sure there is sound. But this one is so much cheaper than many others, I think it is worth it for me. Hopefully future models will include an indicator light when it is on.

My microphone produced more hiss than sound. Owners manual was missing and there was no plastic bags either. It appears to be used. I guess mine was a returned unit!

adds lots more to the sound of your video's , i like to record friends bands at clubs and this mic does a really great job of picking up the entire band ( minus a little of the bass frequency ) worth the money for an add on mic !

This is a great mic for the price. I am using it for my Canon HV20. It may not be a hotshoe mic, but it fits in it, and works :).
It isolates sound very well and comes with all the accessories it ever needs. The only drawback I could see, and maybe not a drawback, is that it has no indicator light to really show that the battery has juice. So you are left having to turn it on, then remembering to test it however you can with whatever you have it attached to.
Best bargain for your buck.

The Electro-Voice EVI-15 loudspeaker is a factory assembled system featuring a small-format Vari Intense horn and a 15-inch direct radiator in a vented enclosure. The EVI-15 is intended to be used as a standalone full-range system, but may also be used as the mid-bass/high frequency component in most multi-way loudspeaker systems. The EVI-15 consists of a proprietary castframe 381-mm (15-in.) high power, longexcursion low-frequency driver mounted within a vented chamber of 3.4 cubic feet, optimally tuned to provide unequalized lowfrequency response to below 50 Hz. The high-frequency complement consists of a 25.4-mm (1.0-in.) exit compression driver utilizing a new small format Vari Intense horn. Vari Intense is a revolutionary patented6 technology that throws a 6 to 10-dB hotter signal to the back of the room. This compensates for the drop in SPL over the longer distance to the back of the room (25 feet for the short throw and about 70 feet for the long throw in a typical room). The system is provided with a 2,000-Hz passive crossover featuring self setting tweeter protection and asymetric acoustic slopes with passive lobe steering for uniform coverage throughout the crossover region. The enclosure is constructed from 19-mm (0.75-in.) thick, thoroughly braced 7-ply birch plywood lined with soundabsorbent glass wool. Five 3/8-16 shoulderbolt hanging points are provided for safe suspension of the EVI-15. There are two hanging options recommended. The optional UBracket hanging kit, MB-EVI15 is available for use with the 3/8-16 T nut locations on the side of the enclosure along with a single pullup strap located on the lower back of the enclosure. The second option is available using the two T-nut locations on the front top of the enclosure as well as the pull-up location on the lower back of the enclosure. The EVI-15 Vari Intense loudspeaker is the ideal system whenever highoutput full-frequency-range is required.

Protected, and massive storage.......2007-12-28
I owned the 1GB version of this for a long time and purchased the 4GB version for my partner. He, like I, has been thrilled with the Caribeener clip as we both keep it on our key rings at all times now. So there's never a time when we are without the ability to store files.
I keep my passwords on mine, so no matter where I am, I have access to them. (It is encrypted.) But something like PortableApps will make this even more useful.
No downsides that I've found.
Too slow........2007-06-03
Last edit. After I remembered another folder of about 130 MB that I wanted to store on this drive, and after it took more than half an hour to transfer it, I decided to return this item.
I would have used this drive with my own computers, with Mac OS 10.4.9, and work computers, mostly with Windows 2000 or XP, but a couple of old ones with Windows 98 SE.
Positive things. This drive has a rugged design with a very convenient carrying doohickey. Comes with Windows 98 drivers, which most people won't need, but I do.
Negative, unfortunately, I have to weight this fairly heavily. Really slow transfer rate compared with my 1 GB drive by another maker. A large folder, about 500 MB, took something like half an hour or more to transfer on to this drive. Compared that to my 1 GB drive, which took only 2 or 3 minutes. On the other hand, a larger folder, about 900 MB, took around twenty minutes, so it's not consistent.
Later edit, with things I should have mentioned. The slow data rates were definitely on USB 2.0 ports, and were on my Mac Mini with OS 10.4.9.
The security software is included on the drive, but not actually installed. Since it's Windows only software, I just deleted it without installing. There is also a PDF manual included on the drive.
