Yes I first used these headphones since 2004 and hasn't worn out yet well I am thinking of purchasing another pair as back up. The cord lenght is useful if you want to manuver around your desk without it becoming tangle under your chin or on an item. hope this is helpful.
Great for the Price.......2007-12-02
I bought these headphones almost 2 years ago for less than 5 bucks. My pair is still working fine, but I'm buying pair for someone at work who likes to borrow mine.
I bought these headphones because I wanted to listen to music at work, and I didn't want anything too expensive that might be stolen. These headphones have an 8 foot cord, which I find ideal for moving around my cube without taking the headphones off. The sound quality is OK for my use at work, and the headphones are durable.
Worthless for portable devices.......2006-03-09
Based on the prior review, I purchased these headphones for use with my ipod. The cord is six feet long. While they may be fine for home use if you want a little distance from your stereo, they are completely impractical for use with a portable device because their excess length makes them too likely to catch.

I got these to use with an ipod, because I don't like using headphones that go inside the ear. I wanted something simple and unobtrusive to use while walking around. They are very comfortable, and the cord only attaches to one side of the headpiece, so you don't have a cord under your chin to get tangled up in. The sound is great. For this price you can't go wrong.

Purchased this for a home theater system, creating a 120" display.
Advantages:
1. Screen takes up zero space.
2. Projector can be placed off center, with adjustments to compensate the angle.
3. Bright, even in bulb saving mode.
4. Display can be bigger than any plasma screen on the market.
5. Costs less than a decent sized plasma screen.
6. A very portable television.
7. Can connect a PC to view photo collections, internet, etc.
8. Works very well on a blank wall (doesn't have to be white).
9. Perfect for events at home or away.
10. Wow factor!

RAID 1 NAS with ZERO Performance.......2007-12-24
The intent was to create a RAID repository to back up critical files, occasionally do a full system back up and have a shared space for my wireless home network. So I bought it and installed two new Seagate Barracuda Hard Drives. After struggling for some time with the setup software (and not being able to connect to the Netgear site for recent updates) I finally got this working (sort of) after 2 hours. I figured this was my learning curve and I'd only have to do this once so, oh well. Then I started building the virtual drives. They would appear and disappear randomly and sporadically. Then, when I'd reboot my system or the drive or my router (due to poor performance of any and all) the fragile "mirrors" would break. There is no facility to restore a broken mirror which makes this feature absolutely worthless because that is one of the first things I would want to do if I had an actual physical drive failure. The NAS was definitely a drag on system/network performance so I would leave it unplugged (no off switch either). After finally hunting down some firmware upgrades through repeated Google searches for technical articles (and possible consolation from others experiencing the same agony) I went through a whole re-install process and started from scratch. I'd like to say the results were even a marginal improvement but they weren't. Fortunately I was able to unload this on the web, buy a single drive NAS from Vantec (doing CD/DVD backups of my most critical files like digital photos) and haven't looked back since.
