Nice, a bit odd, very little bass.......2007-12-18
Well, the first thing I did is pop 'em in, as is. I was a bit disppointed by the "isolation" -- I could still clearly hear noises around me.
I swapped the covers around, went for the large -- more runner stuffed in your ear = more sound blockage, right? Well, not for me. I switched to the small ones and bam! I can't hear the humm of the PC fan and can only faintly hear the clicking of the keyboard.
So after getting a proper fit and listinening to a few songs to get used to them, I went into my "most played" playlist and listened to three songs.
"Full Moon Jig" by Ancient Times was enough to impress. It has a fiddle line in it that sounded as crisp as I've ever heard it and the bass line (with NO equalizer setup) made my head vibrate as if I hass the bass turned up in the car.
"Yesterday" by The Beatles was a surprise. I didn't realize there were that many stereo effects -- even listening to it with the stock earbuds didn't render that. The guitar sounded clear, the lyrics sounded soft (I think that's the mix of the song, as I've never heard the lyrics as sharp as I'd have liked)
Brooks & Dunn's "Boot Scootin' Boogie" was my third choice. The bass again was impressive. I found it a bit disconcerting that the bass _can_ sound like that without making my chest rattle. The highs of the keyboard and fiddle were sharp as ever. The lyrics were as clear as I've heard them.
If you can get over the fact that they're in-ear, meaning clearing your throat or brushing the cord sounds LOUD, and surround noises are, well, mostly missing, these are nice headphones, and at $20, I'm happy. I say four stars because even with the closest-fitting tips, the fit isn't quite what I'm after and I keep wiggling them hoping to get them in just the right spot. If I had purchased these online, I'd keep them. Since I got them in a store, I'll try 'em for a few days and possibly swap for another brand in the same price range. Other than the funky fit, these are GREAT.
Uncomfortable and odd length cord.......2007-12-17
Only when reading here did I discover that the unequal cord lengths on my earphones was a feature not a mistake. No matter - these earphones went back. I never really got a chance to decide how nice the sound could be, the earplugs were so incredibly uncomfortable that I couldn't wear them for two minutes. I don't think I have weird ears (people don't point and faint), so I assume that the fault was that of the earplugs. I went back to my old favorite; Koss Plugs, and am happy once again.

I've been looking for earbuds that would be better than the original ipod ones. I even tried the earbuds from apple that go into the ear canal, but they were much to large. I guess I have small ear holes, but the smallest ear inserts fit me best. They fit comfortably in my ear.

I was looking for a pair of earphones that might show some improvement over my standard white ipod earphones. I then saw these Koss keb24 earphones reviewed (among others) in the Circuits page of the NYT.
After opening my order and trying them out, I found them sounding actually worse than the stock ipod ones. The optional tips did provide for a better fit, but I'm not interested in anything with a poorer sound.
I got a return shipping number, and shipped them back for a refund.

I agree with the other reviewer. In fact, the rubber adapters for your ears that come with these are the huge downfall (as well as the fact that these have the same dumb type of cord the Sony's all have where they are unequal lengths on different sides so you are supposed to drap around back of neck--to me this bugs me because of cord always touching neck). Anyway, I happen to have some extra medium sized rubber ear adapters for a set of Shure ear buds (Shure PA749A Flex Sleeves). I have Shure earbuds but wanted a pair I cared less about for exercise. Well, amazingly, with the flex sleeves for the Shures, these cheapo Koss earbuds sound incredibly good. Really excellent, especially for the price. So, if you want some good sounding earbuds for less money, and you have rubber flex sleeves made by another company or want to order the Shure's noted above, you will end up with an excellent sounding set of earbuds for a lot less than others. Of course, Koss could have designed better flex sleeves in the first place, because the ones that come with these units are worthless, just as the other review notes.
WIth the Shure sleeves, these are actually more comfortable (to my ears) than the Shure earbuds.

what attractd me to this lcd set was the white ipod like finish. it is one of the most beautiful tv's i have ever seen. the clarity is crisp. it is versatile in that it can be used as a computer monitor as well. it has a standard base that can also be used as a wall mount. it was a tad more expensive than other 23" lcd's on the market, but i purchased the tv for my bedroom and i wanted something nice to look at.
If Design is your #1 priority... then get this........2007-03-13
This is a TV for the design geeks. It's beautiful, glossy white (not unlike the ipod), clean minimalist design is featured in Wallpaper magazine and is just stunning. I got it for #1) design, #2) name brand/quality, #3) small size. 23" is perfect for my tiny NYC studio apartment.
Is it loaded with features? yes, but probably not enough for the uber-technophile. I shopped this tv around to my technogeek friends who ultimately said, "it's a good tv, but only if you use it to mainly watch tv." If you're a gamer or want a bigger screen for the money, then this tv is not for you. The picture is good enough for me; i can tell the difference between HD and non-HD; but for now, even though HD is possible on this tv (you just subscribe and it will adjust to the HD feed), i chose not to have it and the picture's still good. uber-sharp? no, but it's good enough.

The white truly looks great with the TV on or off. Surprising according to some who have seen the TV, the white case actually improves the viewing experience (in my case my daughter room is all white its fit on a front of a white wall).

I got one for Christmas and hooked it up when I got home. The picture on my xbox 360 in 720p mode is beyond terrible, pixels are huge, it's got this weird jaggy thing it does on edges... It's really really awful. I don't know how it fares on dvds because it doesn't support the xbox dvd player in progressive scan mode. I was looking forward to my first hd tv and boy is this disappointing, I'm going to attempt to return it, and if they don't take it back It's going in the closet.

I had a Sony Wega 20" flat screen monster in the bedroom and wanted something sleeker and I definitely got that! Goes well with my mid-century modern furnishings as well. I'm an Apple girrrl so the fact that it was very iPod-esque was right up my alley. You will also have to buy an upconverting DVD player to view DVD's. I bought the Samsung HD-860 (plus an HDMI cable--all on Amazon). DVD's look great and fill the whole screen in HD. The price for the TV on Amazon was $200 cheaper than if I drove over to Best Buy or Circuit City and the TV arrived within 5 business days, free shipping, no sales tax. A cute TV for a small area and light as a feather and easy to set up out of the box. I love it (see pic I posted) so much I'm buying the 40" for the living room.
