Good Sound Field.......2007-07-03

This is a very good product,
Sony delivers in this MDRG58V headphone package. Overall Volume is a problem though. Connected to my home theatre system, its just lousy, the volume control doesn't even respond due to the low output signal. If it did respond, this would be a 5/5 rating. Connected to my computer using Nero Media Player 6, The output is the best thing i've stuck in my ear. You woun't beleive the clarity of the bass, high hats and tweeter output. I'm immediately reminded of an automobile high end sound system (This could just be an amp, aftermarket stereo and speakers) Really- it has that impact. To crown it off it has a nice metallic blue finnish on the ear pad casing which shows midnight blue (almost purple) when tilted at different angles. The sony labels on the ear pads just makes people put them on and have a listen. For everyday use I have my Palm Tungsten E2 which has a decent high quality output accurately captured by these headphones. Overall I'd say its well worth the money. Happy listening

Buy these if you never want to where them. They hurt. Get the previous version, more comfortable MDRG56V model while sellers still have them.

had it for many months now. I use it exclusively for jogging or biking.

It's stylish.
the volume control is a good idea
holds tight for running.

Dislikes:
hurts your ear if you wear for long time.
doesn't exactly stay around my ear. I try to make it so that no air can blow into my ear but it moves.

overall I like it for jogging, because I can't find everything that will allow me to run with it.
if you use one of those really expensive headphones that go into your ear, you will hear your heavy heart beat when you run.
Saw it on sale at amazon from WhoSave. Good deal.

I needed a new set of headphones and I really like the volume control and the street style features of the sony. I figure, "why not grab the latest and greatest?" Okay, I'll tell you why you shouldn't get these in 3 simple points:

1. The band that ends up in the back of your head is pointed, not rounded, so it catches on everything (unless you're not wearing a shirt). The result is ...

2. The speakers slip off your ears or they get pushed forward on your head. You can stop this from happening by flipping up your collar (if you're wearing one) and pinning the headphones in place, but they aren't that comfortable because ...

3. The earpieces are SMALL! That's right, that little muff that used to keep my ears warm in the winter on my old set now only keeps my ear drum warm. The other issue with that is that you get a lot of outside noise in while you're trying to listen to whatever you're trying to listen to.

The sound quality (when the ear pieces are on your ears) is good, but I think that the change of style in the headphones overall was a mistake. These aren't worth the money ... spend it someplace else!

Why does my head hurt?.......2004-08-22

Ok, maybe i have a big head. And i think i do, but when i first wore the headphones the rim was hurting the side of my head, i tried adjusting it but still, pressure was being applied above my ears. Now i have to buy new ones (because i as stupid as i am thru away the packaging) or go back to my old sony's.
Not to mention that the chrome tip at the end looks kinds stupid.
They were pretty light, and had good sound quality. If you have a small head, go for them. ^_^
