My favorite inexpensive closed headphone.......2007-11-29
When it comes to closed headphones under $100, especially for use with a computer or MP3 player, the DT 231 is my favorite. Although it looks a bit plasticky, the sound quality is stellar for the price -- balanced top to bottom with a "warm" presentation and good bass response (despite the previous reviewer's comments). The DT 231's upper-treble detail isn't quite as clear as that of Sennheiser's HD 280 and Sony's MDR-7506, but it's also not as harsh as those models can be; I find the DT 231's presentation to be a great match for harsh sources such as computers or portable players with MP3 files.
The DT 231 is also comfortable enough to wear for hours at a time. (I'm not sure what the previous reviewer expected in terms of fit: I haven't seen a full-sized headphone that doesn't mess up your hair ;-) )
On the other hand, the DT 231's earcups are on the small side, so those with large ears may find that the earcups don't completely surround their ears.

For $59 this headphone is slightly above average. Don't look for any above average bass though. It's merely a capable cost friendly headset that adequately highlights the majority of audible ranges.
I am relatively happy with these headphones, but if I were to do it all over again I would try to find a better pair with more bass. A headphone of this coast and size should have ample bass when fed enough wattage.
Also this headphone has a very bad drawback in the non-musical category. It has a very annoying headband thingy. Yes it provides a snug fit, but:
a) It looks goofy since there is a gap between the headphone band and the headphone bracket
b) If you have anything other than flat hair (or no hair) then you will find it absolutely impossible to position this headphone comfortably without either messing up your hair or hurting your ears. (Believe me I've tried)
In conclusion I can definitely say that if you only listen to radio pop, rock and country, then these phones will perform perfectly audio wise for you. However if you are an audiophile like myself, I believe that it is worth spending an extra $10 to $20 to buy a brand that satisfies the true cost conscious audiophile in all listening endeavors.

I bought this drive to replace my Lexar drive after my dog chewed up it's case. I've had this drive for five months and I've just had it fail for the second time. The first time it failed no computer would recognize it as a flash drive. This time no computer would even recognize that anything was plugged in to the USB port. Sandisk has been very good about supplying me with a replacement, but I no longer trust it a reliable backup for my important data. All the while my mangled Lexar drive has been a reliable substitute while the Sandisk drive is in the shipping process.
Don't be fooled - "Titanium" Cruzer can't survive static electricity.......2006-04-18
Don't be fooled by SanDisk's claims of indestructibility for this "Titanium" Cruzer model. It may be able to withstand a crushing force of 2,000 pounds, but it was no match for a simple jolt of household static electricity, which fried the product within three weeks of my purchasing it, causing me to permanently lose all of my data (which of course I had not backed up). Data recovery services were unable to get the drive to light up or recover my data - they can only assist in "undeleting" deleted files, if the drive will actually mount. The static electricity prevented the drive from ever being mountable again.
I'm quite disappointed with SanDisk's response to the problem when I called. In my experience, their products are generally high quality and their tech support is good. But not in the case of this cursed model of Titanium Cruzer. I wish I'd read some of the online reviews before purchasing this model -- tons of people are having this same problem and poor response from SanDisk.
SanDisk Tech Support was only willing to replace the unit with the exact same defective model -- which is totally unethical, in my opinion, given the numbers of anecdotal reports I see with people having the exact same problem I had. SanDisk was not willing to replace my defective Titanium model (SDCZ3-1024-A10) with the newer Titanium model (SDCZ7-1024-A1) that has a safer plastic casing and U3 technology.
SanDisk - if you're reading this - are you sure you're willing to risk your reputation on your miserable handling of this situation?
Consumers, please, do yourself a favor and stay away from this model and buy the newer one with a safer plastic housing and U3 technology. Otherwise, your data will be at risk of permanent loss with a simple zap of static eletricity.
