Great Product for H-series and RD-series RCA Lyra Owners!.......2007-10-25

First of all, there are few if any accessories out there for users of the RCA Lyra Micro Jukebox series, be it the H-series or RD-series. So, Lyra owners, like myself, have become creative in finding aftermarket and third party products to use with our Lyras (or is Lyrae?).

I'm on my second Lyra currently. My first Lyra, and my first DAP in reality, was a refurbished RD-2762A I got on eBay. After about a year, the battery quit holding any sort of substantial charge, and so I went a-searching for a new DAP. By some odd luck or karma, I discovered the RD-2763FM right here on Amazon.com for less than fifty bucks with free shipping!

A week or so later, I got my gorgeous little blue DAP in brand new, sparkling condition, and of course, immediately began fretting. Lyras are prone to scratches and scuffs, and I knew "Ole Blue" would be a victim of that sooner or later.

A few days pass, and I'm at my local Wal-Mart, browsing the clearance section, when lo! and behold, I discovered the RCA MP3 Starter Kit for $3! Three measly bucks for three silicone cases and an extra wall charger! After nearly plotzing, I hurriedly purchased the Starter Kit, took it home, and immediately clothed Ole Blue in the beautiful, form-fitting blue silicone case. And I've been scratch-free ever since!

The additional AC/DC Charging Adapter has proven useful on long trips. I leave the one I got with my Lyra at home, and keep the extra packed away in my suitcase at all times.

This is a fine product, but anyone reading this will be hard-pressed to find the AVA410 Starter Kit out there. Amazon.com might have one, as will eBay, but that's basically it. I wish RCA would've created more products for our Lyras, but I guess we're all out of luck on that!

Oh, well, the Starter Kit is still a great item, as is the RD-2763FM. Good luck out there and good listening!
