I have owned mine for more than five years and they have always worked great at distances of 90 feet or more. I think those who had trouble did not know how to set up the frequency on the base unit and the headphones. Hint: they give you a manual to read!

Let's make it short story. It extremly difficult to find the set-up where the sounds is clear. And when it works it's for an extremly short period of time. I would not recommend this item at all.

Nice Headphones but ............2006-11-06
I bought this unit a couple of months ago. It works fine, sound is ok but not as good as I expected. Now the battery doesn't last as long when I charge it so I tried to find replacement part. Well the JVC P/N is J46691-001, and it is $19.95 + shipping + tax. That makes it at about $28, almost half the price the whole unit!!!! forget it.

I've put these headphones through their paces for a couple of weeks now. After winning a new set on eBay ($25, incl. shipping), I noticed several bad reviews on Amazon.com and epinions.com, so I didn't expect much. That said, I've been very pleased with these headphones. I've listened to everything from Bach to Metallica, and they've performed without a hitch. I haven't tried 328 feet, but I've gone at least 100' (to take the trash out to the curb) and they've worked great. No, they don't deliver the bass punch of my old JVC corded phones, but the trade-off is that I can walk to the next room without knocking things off of shelves now. Yes, you do need to adjust the tuning from time to time, but certainly not as often as some reviewers claim. These are my first 'wireless' headphones, and I'm very pleased. I'm a long-time JVC user, and I think they live up to the reputation.

this tv is nothing short of perfect. I've owned it for 4 months and still can't believe the picture. Was kinda worried about the big silver speaker strip on the bottom, but once I got it home, found that a couple of screws was all that held it together. Now, integrated into my home theater, it is a very classy all-black 47" frame hanging on my wall! Looking into another one for the bedroom!!! WELL WORTH TWICE THE PRICE!!!!

I bought this with its matching access point NetGear WAB102 and could not be happier. Set-up took less than five minutes, although configuring the security and access settings took about an hour. The card and access point also include 3-yr warranties, 24/7 support and all that jazz. Excellent for those who don't wanna spend too much time figuring out how to connect Wi-Fi. A co-worker of mine has the Microsoft solution that claims total simplicity and zero uptime, but I fought the NetGear solution much easier.
