I have had this modem for 2 or 3 years now and I don't have one problem with it. When I have had a problem, tech support from Motorola solved it ASAP! I thought this would break after a year and it's still going strong. If you want a modem and router in one, this is the product for you!

Compared to other routers, WAPs, modems and the like I've bought over the past ten years, this one is far and away the best: solid, simple, easy, and the browser interface was obviously written and designed by someone who's done it before.
The configuration allows for far more flexibility and choices than I was expecting from the other reviews here--I particularly like the customizable firewall, although I'd prefer to be able to simply add more rules to a standard profile than to have to chose low, medium or high profile OR full custom (I needed to allow POP/SMTP access to GMail's funky ports). The power consumption is so low I can't discern any temperature rise (the problem with the Linksys all-in-one I had first). The WAN speed is amazing: 12 Mbps, but that's probably because I had an older modem before.
My only quibble, other than the all-or-nothing firewall: why oh why not provide four, five or even six switched or even hubbed Ethernet ports, like all other home networking routers do, so I wouldn't need a separate Ethernet switch?
