I spend a significant amount of time returning phone calls during the day. Therefore, I decided to purchase the Plantronics Mirage Polaris headset, since it would plug into my phone (Fanstel) and was reasonably priced. Since receiving it, I've been very happy with this headset. It fits over my ear easily and comfortably. In fact, after speaking on the phone for 45 minutes, I've actually forgotten that I was still wearing a phone. Headsets which go over the head seem more uncomfortable. This fits over the ear and is designed to be comfortable and easily adjusted. The sound is excellent; volume is controlled by my telephone. Also, people report to me that I sound clear on the other end of the line. Overall, I definitely recommend this headset.

Have purchased multiple ScanMaker 5950 units to use for work and will do so again as needed. Easy to use, pretty much plug and play and scanning is very fast when you have multiple documents to work with at once.
great for the money.......2007-10-22
We just bought a second one, after the first one died after a household move and some really heavy use. Tried other scanners with document feeders that were more expensive and slower! So went back to the same Microtek model that we knew and loved. Good speed for the money (about 6 ppm, b&w, 200dpi) and the image quality is as good as our other scanners. Sometimes we have to scan a page just to get the light warmed up, but hey, it works great for the money. We need to scan many multipage documents at a time and use Adobe Acrobat with the scanner software, and it's very simple and intuitive to get good scans of even handwritten forms.
Cheap scanner that works OK.......2007-09-25
Bottom line, it's a cheap scanner that gets the job done, if you are willing to play with it a little bit. It took me a while to figure out how to get it to do a simple task - scan multiple page documents into a single PDF file. The software makes this a bit difficult (you have to "scan to email" and then choose a medium-high dpi setting). The hardware is acceptable, for the $55.00 I paid for it on eBay. When I'm rich I'll buy a $1,000 document scanner, but until that time, I'm doing OK with scanners like this one.

Worked well for about the first year, but now it will not communicate with my computer (all checks of hardware and software have failed me, of course).

This is a great tool and a big help fishing the bay and gulf. Gives a good look on the bottom. Helps find the holes. And also the sand bars. With the tide up and down a must have. It has shown me were the fish were. and the tempature helps also. For the price its a deal.

This transducer mount does not provide for side mounting on canoes. If you do not have a transom then you will need to do your own modification to make the mount work with a canoe.
