Case interferes with USB accessory cord.......2006-11-11

FYI...tried this aluminum case on two different iPODs and it interfered with the cord contact on the USB accessory cable for a 4GB 1st generation Nano and for an 8GB 2nd gen Nano. The plug goes in but not fully, and the slight gap (due to the hard case) was enough to prevent an FM adapter from working. Took the Nano out of this aluminum case, used a soft sleeve and it worked perfectly. THEIR description says you don't need to remove it to access the port, but 2 users couldn't make it work. It's attractive, thought it would give superior protection, but all you can reliably use with it is the earbud cord. Stick with the sleeves.

Within the first week or so of use, the CD playback on this system became unusable. When playing a CD or MP3 disk, every few seconds the player injects a burst of loud static on top of the audio playback, thus rendering the CD playback so annoying that the system cannot be used. The display and controls all look as if the unit is working correctly, but the audio results demonstrate that it is not. This happens with every disk we have tried, so it is clearly a malfunctioning system, not an isolated case of one damaged CD.

Too good to be true.......2006-03-17

This Audiovox system looks great, especially for the price... but alas, sometimes you really do get what you pay for. I received a defective player that buzzed like a distant radio station, ALL THE TIME- even when playing CD's. I guess I should had heeded that other guy's advise, I just thought HIS particular one buzzed. Oops.

Horrible hiss obscures the sound. Not just quiet moments in songs, but throughout any signal there's a high hiss. Not a speaker problem, either, as the same was true listening on headphones. I'm not an audiophile and I'm not picky, so this is not a review by some obsessive nitpicker: the noise reduction is nonexistent; the hiss is immediately obvious. I opened the box, listened through speakers, listened through headphones, put it right back in the box and returned it. No sound system should have this much noise.

Gave this as a present to my dad. He researched what system he thought I should buy for over two months. Now that it has arrived he says it is unquestionably the best system money can buy for under $100.00 (maybe even under $200.00)! Fabulous sound, excellent reception, plug in the headphones and you are in heaven! He highly recommends this system.

The size is micro, but not the sound........2005-09-20

The size of this micro system was perfect for the space I had available. It's very short, easy to put in just about anywhere. The face of the player opens, and that's where the cd goes (cd stops playing when open, and doesnt start back at the same place). The headphone jack is at the top, which is very convenient, just dont do like I did, and get the cord caught in the door, for previously mentioned reasons. This player is.. one of the best I've ever owned. The sound is great too.

This is an excellent USB powered sheet feed scanner. I purchased it to use with Reciept wallet and Document wallet on the Mac. The mac driver can by downloaded from sysviewtech.com. It was easy to follow the directions to install the driver software. Scanning documents and receipts into these applications has been so simple even I can do it. The scan speed is fast. Whether for home or office use, scanning paper with the docketport is fast and easy and makes it easy to convert paper into pdf files. Great for genealogists to scan original documents for reference, moms to scan recipes or magazine articles, lawyers to scan legal documents, I could go on with all kinds of uses. Excellent buy for the price.

Small, light and twain compliant........2007-03-25

I really like this little scanner. It's small and lightweight. Also, no need to carry a power supply because it draws power from the USB port. Perfect for traveling.

However, this is NOT a "stay at home" scanner replacement. If you don't plan on traveling with a scanner, this is not for you. It is sometimes difficult to feed and sometimes the item being scanned shifts and causes the scan to be cockeyed.

If you need a desktop scanner, get one with a feeder and can scan both sides at the same time.

This is a true travel scanner. What's very nice is that it's TWAIN compliant. Sometimes that's tough to find at this price point. If you don't know what TWAIN means, just know that's what you want for ease of use and compatibility with 99% of all programs that can use a scanner.

I took 1 star away from this scanner because of the feed issue (4/5). I would buy this scanner again.

No Mac OS X PDF software included. .......2007-03-21

This scanner does not work with Mac OS X. I down loaded the Mac OS X drivers. You can scan to Jpeg and Tiff. The results are hard to read. I called the company about the save to PDF software. They told me they do not have this software for Mac OS X. They said that I would need to by Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 if I wanted to save to PDF. They also said that the one step button on the top of the scanner to scan to PDF will not work in Mac OS X. One other problem is that it has no auto crop software so any small document is scanned and the rest of the page is black. I have sent this scanner back.

Simple, easy to use, compact and good quality scans.
Training non technical staff how to use it was a breeze. They shouldn't have any problem using it. We're using the same model in multiple facilities around the country.

It's No Replacement For A Strobe Scanner With PaperPort Software.......2007-02-04

The Docketport 465 seems like a nice scanner with its bus-powered design and compact form factor, but, as always, the hitch is the software. As a Mac user, I've been seeking a modern replacement for my aging Strobe Pro scanner with its fabulous PaperPort software. Unfortunately, PaperPort only runs in "Classic", an environment that is no longer supported on modern Intel-based Macs.

When I learned that a Mac driver became available for this scanner, I thought I was heading for paperless nirvana.

But it was not to be. My dream of shoving pages into the scanner to yield a stack of digitized pages has eluded me once again. Is it because of a patent being held by a competitor, or the antediluvian TWAIN software interface?

I don't know, but regardless of the imaging application I used, I was always stuck with defining ahead of time how big my image would be, and having to click an on-screen button to commence scanning.

Why can't scanning start when I shove a page into the darned thing?
Why can't software take care of trimming everything outside of the edges?
When will someone bring a modern version of PaperPort and the Strobe to MacOSX?

Great Idea!.......2003-01-24

I tried this one, it works and the concept is great. A lot of leaves and debris get in it.I found a better design in Amazon.com auctions under home and garden, called the rain barrel. This is an impressive design, it has a screen on top and spicot on the bottom for hose hook-up. Nothing else required! In Colorado with the water restiction so tight, I managed to keep my garden alive with the little rain that we had and adding the gray water to it. Check it out!

I used one of these at work, and it does a nice job as part of a larger system. I had a few problems when leaf debris collected on the top...but you will have that problem with any rain collector. It's a good buy, especially for gardeners that need this information.
