1 out of 5 stars Awful.......2007-06-02

No bass. It really *does* sound like you are listening to a (distant) transistor radio through a coke can. I can't believe they put these on the market. Back to Walgreeens.

2 out of 5 stars Poor Sounding and Designed Headphones from Maxell Once Again.......2006-12-30

When it comes to headphones I'm anything but easy on them. A pair, with me, usually lasts a maximum of six months. If they last longer than that they are lucky. Therefore, I decided to go on a search today to find a pair of earbuds that sound at least average, are comfortable, and seem to put up with some rough activities. I do have my Sony MDRE828LP earbuds, but the cord is starting to come off and the right side of the earbud gets blown out every once in awhile which is a sign that they're on its last couple of weeks. And I didn't want to get stuck without any earbuds for my iPod.

I bought these at...Walgreens. Yes, Walgreens. If I went all the way to Target or Wal-Mart my day would be gone. Walgreens doesn't typically have much more of a selection of headphones other than two brands, Maxell and Philips. Maxell had a pair of earbuds, but they were the deaded white. I looked at other selections and I found the HB350F headbuds. They seemed like a good deal and were on sale for seven dollars.

Hey, what do you expect for the price? At least something that has fair bass, good mids, and a clear sound. These do indeed have a clear sound. However, they have a really bad lack of bass tones. They don't sound BAD, depending on your standards, but to me were not worth it at this price-point. Even with the bass booster on, no matter what I tried I just could not get a good sound out of these headphones. I thought that since these were canalphones that they would supply much more of a solid low-end.

Unlike other earbuds, these are a bit different. As shown on the Amazon picture (although mine were red, not black) they have a band on the headphones, which makes these have a more secure fit so you won't have to worry about the earbuds falling off all the time while running or doing outdoor activities. But the comfort is killed by the design of the earbuds. The earpieces are huge and did not fit in my ears very well. After thirty minutes of wearing these my ears were in extreme pain.

For other extras, they do have a volume control, but don't get too excited here. It's more like a loud to a mild sound than it is very loud to off, but it could be useful in some cases. Also they have a nice folding action that makes them fit perfectly into my iPod's case.

I used to own the Maxell HB202 headbuds and was dissatisfied with the fit, and these are no different. They have a well designed folding action, and don't fall out of my ears, but are painful to wear and do not sound up to the price. If you find these at a very low price, like under five dollars, they may be worth it if you have big ear canals. Otherwise, not a good set to me at all. 2 stars.

1 out of 5 stars Not for average-headed folks.......2006-06-21

Unless your head is the size of a football player's, stay away from these headphones! I'm a normal sized female, and these headphones need to shrink another 2 inches to sit on my head comfortably. If I lean forward, the band falls across my eyes.

The sound quality is pretty bad - even with the volume turned way up it still sounds like I'm listening to a tinny radio half a block away.

Finally, the earbuds hurt my ears after about 5 minutes of use. Although could that be because the headphones don't stay in place, and are always pivoting around? I'm not going to wear them long enough to find out.

Back to Sony I go!

1 out of 5 stars These headphones sound just horrible!.......2005-08-22

Please, don't buy these headphones. According to the quality of their sound they should cost half a dollar only. I've been searching for a vertical headphone during weeks and finally, after checking a lot of models and prices I decided and purchased this crappy little garbage. They sound just awful. Terribly awful. Also, they lie in the package since the package boast a frequency response of 16Hz-22000Mhz and the online info regarding this model says it's actually 20-20000. So, unless you wish to hear your music as coming from inside an empty Coke can, do yourself and your ears a gracious favor, and stay far, far away from these headphones which don't deserve that name.

1 out of 5 stars Please Do NOT buy this junk.......2007-12-30

Oh my goodness this is a piece of junk. First off, nowhere on the box did it list what printers work with it. It makes it sound like anything works with it on the box.

Second, of the three printers in my house only one would work and of course it wasn't the one I bought it for. The other two were incompatible.

So I decided to move a bunch of stuff around in the house and get this thing working so I could use a laptop that we were using as a print server only for something else. I followed all the directions, had the correct drivers, etc.

It took about 3 attempts to get it to work. It was a painful process but shared it and got four computers in the house to print to it. The next day it wouldn't work. The internal web server link (web page) that you set it up with showed that all was well but not a single one of the computers would acknowledge that it existed, though they did the evening prior.

I started over, reset everything and it worked for two days this time.

I started over yet again and it worked for less than one day.

This is a piece of junk and not good for anything at all unless you need two more green Christmas lights on your tree.

4 out of 5 stars Decent Print Server For The Price.......2007-11-03

This compact little print server seems adequate and I've no complaints thus far except for the manual. It's worded correctly and the grammar is surprisingly good, for a change, and even the pictures and diagrams are helpful. However the instructions are flawed and I'm not sure how you could set up a printer via the method they describe. To save you some effort, if you're pulling your hair out with your 'P1U, instead of adding a printer as a "Network Printer", try this...

          Add Printer
          Local Printer [uncheck Auto Detect]
Create A New Port > Standard TCP/IP Port
Enter your print server's IP address [out of the box, mine was 192.168.1.60]
          Choose your printer driver

That should do it. I'm reading a lot of bad news from folks who've tried to contact TrendNet's Tech Support or find useful info from their website, and also the 'P1U seems to be incompatible with most HP printers which isn't indicated anywhere so good luck if you've got an HP. Other than those particulars, which didn't affect me, I'm pleased with my 'P1U...so far. Just remember - you get what you pay for. Don't expect BMW performance at a Kia price.

2 out of 5 stars It works for my HP Photosmart C4280 .......2007-08-13

I have a HP Photosmart C4280 that I wanted to work over my network with a wireless HP laptop with Vista and with a desktop tied directly to the Hub through a Cat 5 cable. I got it all working in about two hours. Both the setup for the laptop and desktop did not follow the procedures from Trendnet. You must use a local printer TCP/IP connection for the laptop and you must tell the connection to see a generic 1 port print server (from the Microsoft pull down list). The desktop was set up as port U1 on the network using the setup wizard from Trendnet. The Trendnet support does not exist hence the 2 stars.

2 out of 5 stars Poor Technical Support.......2007-06-20

It does not work with my HP Deskjet printer, the tech support were completely unhelpful, and just told me to read the manual and follow the instructions, they wouldn't help me troubleshoot the installation.
The print server seems like a good product, but the technical support is awful.

2 out of 5 stars Didn't work with my printer.......2007-02-24

I had to return this item because when I called Tech Support they told me the printer wasn't compatible with this unit. It would have been nice to know that BEFORE I bought it.
