Run, don't walk away from this drive!.......2007-09-27
To make it simple, this drive failed shortly after the 1-year warranty expired. LaCie will not repair or replace it since it's out of warranty. Their customer support basically told me that they couldn't help me, and to go away and figure out the problem. I ended up removing the Seagate drive and installing it in a new enclosure, and it works perfectly. The problem was with the LaCie enclosure that failed, and literally doesn't have any moving parts! The product failed without warning, and that's when I came to realize that I was standing in a barren wasteland of LaCie customer support. I realize that things break, but to have no support is ridiculous.

I purchased this recently from the department store that I work at, the price was pretty much what Amazon is asking.
Anyway, I love this!! I have not listened to my records in forever, and it was such a great feeling of nostalgia to put them on the turn table and hear them again!!
I prefer records to cds, or ipods for many reasons. If you have never owned a record, or were born after 1989 then you'll never know why.
Anyway, this is a perfect item for people looking to reconnect to their past, or for a parent to introduce the past to their children.
